It's so crazy how MR even has 340M youtube views that's really impressive in this day and age . Imagine if she released more singles so they got the chance to age gracefully, even if they don't perform amazingly in the first few weeks

MR is so good, I get why it still stands today

and to think she didn't perform it on tour last summer yet ROM got the big push

ROM coming from her most acclaimed album to date in terms of critic reviews and winning a Grammy is cute. It did what it had to do.

 

As for MR - I’ve got a friend, who’s gay and single for a long time and he’s also a virgin, struggles to find happiness and he always says how he loves MR and how the song helps him coping with his loneliness. Good for him. 

 

At the end of the day, both will cross 1B streams everntually which is great.

I view the songs G.U.Y and John Wayne as filler songs on their albums. They’re just there, make no impact and are skippable. And for some reason she invested in music videos for both when there were so many better options

Radio and casuals had tuned out by the time GUY was released, if it was the lead I think it could've done well.

I agree. It is a great, catchy song. It was just too late by that point and her image has taken a hit.
