no you're the one here telling everyone and their mother she hasn't worked on new music since early 2020 cause "she hasn't posted a picture of herself in the studio", also what's the correlation between a visual album and her working on new music but deciding to keep it private for once (and rightfully so)? one is a huge fantasy while the other is an actual possibility

She’s always working on music no doubt, I’m sure she enters the studio at least once every two weeks or goes to bloodpop/whoever else’s house and they make something. The thing is Gaga doesn’t have Interscope up her back anymore because she’s already too successful for them to boss her around. Back when she was doing ARTPOP the label gave her a deadline, and I’m sure they pushed her to start the rollout as soon as her hip healed. I think defiance is what motivates Gaga, because when interscope denied her of releasing Burqa, she leaked it herself. When her old manager left her & ARTPOP was getting dragged, she went back to her jazz roots to find herself again. But I think she’s at a point where she doesn’t want to have to feel broken or lost to find motivation bc it’s too traumatizing at this point. I noticed that when ASIB gave her depression/a feeling of brokenness, it motivated chromatica to finally happen. Chances are that Joker 2 didn’t really break her or depress her, so it probably didn’t motivate new music. We can argue that the darkness of the role motivated new music, but last time she was motivated by a dark role (AHS) nothing came out of it. It wasn’t until she depressed herself with her family story/her aunt/her best friend’s passing that she pushed out Joanne. 

 

She’s in a great place rn, she doesn’t really have anyone telling her ‘no’ these days, that she can’t do this or that etc so she’s comfortable. And she deserves to be comfortable tbh, she’s working very hard as it is.

After watching The Little Mermaid I’m glad Gaga didn’t play Ursula. There just isn’t much to the role, it was basically a copy-paste of the animated movie except for some minor changes.

First it was ironic, second she doesn't exactly have a history for which she has managed to keep things secretive, it's already a lot if her team manages to not leak stuff, for now there's no concrete indication that she actually worked on a new album, the rest is just speculation based on the nothing.

Yeah I remember Gaga mentioning in one of her recent interviews that she learned she doesn’t have to be tortured to make good art anymore (paraphrasing but that was the sentiment), which makes me really excited about what she could be cooking up this time around

 

It’ll be nice to have an album rollout that isn’t about sadness or depression

HMH + its MV is better than Shallow. The GPeople were brainwashed when they heard GAR singing anything oither than Poker Face type songs, much less with a Hollywood diva Bradley Cooper. The howling bridge on Shallow is definitely genius, but the quality of the songs differs. I think Gaga delivered a perfect song with HMH to match the movie, even though it was disgustingly misplaced.

 

Who knew that Gaga's team makes terrible marketing decisions?
