hopefully, she would have ditched the cosplay that was SL looks... which was also a huge factor as to why it looked awful

I want LONGEVITY, something her music's been failing to achieve since forever (except for ASIB, of course). She won't get an easy hit anymore anyway, so the focus should be quality and impact. Replay would've probably done the same as Stupid Noise, chart wise, but it would pull much better numbers in the long run for sure. The fact that it is doing half of what Stupid Lead does daily confirms it.

 

Also, Replay as the lead would've benefited the album much more. It is the most acclaimed song on the record. People would be curious to listen to the entire thing.

Just to confirm i was only playing around with you i doont think you hate Gaga for wanting replay as lead. 

lyrically, it stands out. and actually production wise. iDK for me it always felt one of the more dated songs.
I know it get so tiresome on here tlaking about commercial performance, i  always remember replay and 911 having the least highest drops in the first month and free woman havving one of the hgihest (the one they thought was single potential AND had the most playlisting outside of the 3 singles)

 

So, yes 911 and replay i think could've been leads and done better on streaming at least. For me, it feels like any chroma song would've jusyt performed like SL, But with SL they wanted to tackle radio to start the era - which they did, SL was bigger than shallow on majority oF WW radio

(apart from Sweden and France where the old people there stan her so they like her adele'd stuff more)

 

Oh well - onto the next album! these days females are older, pop is booming, she deffo has another chance at a hit album

I will never get tired of talking about how her albums could've done better or worse. In the end, we have no control on their decisions, which are always unpredictable and I love it. But it's fun imagining how things could've been with different scenarios.  

 

Yeah, playlisting Free Woman was a mess  I like the song, and I kinda see why they did it, it's one of the most "commercial" songs, but it's so weak compared to the album highs. 

 

I can't wait for her next record!  Which direction they will take, promo-wise? I would love one last era with "classic promo" (that no one does nowadays ) - tv show performances, magazine covers, interviews... and "modern promo" too, like playlisting, tiktok, etc.

And that's exactly why Stupid Love should've been released in Summer 2018 to be streaming playlist fodder like The Cure.

FN is one of the blandest album released this decade tho, gays really gotta stop... it was a cute album in 2020 but really nothing to write home about... lyricaally it's poor, nothing smart, vocally it's safe... only the production is cool
