And who knows, maybe such a tension could actually work for what they're trying to achieve with this film. I doubt they're looking to capture her exact chemistry with Bradley Cooper.

I'm inclined to believe that Rooney was in the mix for the role at some point, as the very first rumour that we ever got about Gaga being involved in the film was a DeuxMoi DM () in Jan 2022 saying that Lady Gaga was in talks for the Joker sequel, and that Joaquin wanted Rooney but Warner Bros wanted Gaga. A few months later, Gaga's involvement turned out to be true, so it's kinda likely that the Rooney part was true also. I don't think that necessarily means that Joaquin was against Gaga for the role per se, but he probably initially wanted it to go to his wife. I'm sure he came around to Gaga once meeting her and discussing the film.

Yeah he made a mockumentary about himself retiring from acting and becoming a rapper, and stayed in character for the entire press tour. So many people at the time believed it was real and that he had had some sort of breakdown

He's a mess  I've seen some other interviews and he's always kinda awkward, the press tour for JFAD will be very entertaining that's for sure, expect the 2.0 version of this clip but with Joaquin instead of Salma:

I strongly doubt, it's not really a small detail the movie having several musical numbers that can be improvise or insert at the last minute and certainly not a thing that you decide randomly based on the casting, the idea and so the script for this movie were definitely decided in advance, also in order to convince Phoenix to return.

I'm always more confident that at the end she won't bother much to do these kind of interviews next year, we already had a sort of taste of that with her absence this year, she knows that after the snub some media outlets blamed this press tour and I think the one for JFAD is gonna be very minimal.

She's gonna let the work speaks for itself.

Gaga's been attached to the project since at least late 2021, and it's likely the script wasn't finalised at that point. It's very possible that the idea for it to be a musical came from Gaga being courted for the role during the planning stages. That's not last minute lol. It's not uncommon for actors to become attached to projects before a script is finished. Again, we really have no idea how it went for JFAD but it's not far fetched to say that Gaga's involvement could have been a contributing factor to making it a musical.

JFAD is going to be a cultural reset. 
She should release LG7 in 2025 for a guaranteed moderate hit record 

I know it's impossible, but I'd love to see her in Givenchy by McQueen or some archive couture by other bands during the press tour of this movie.

And at least she has a radio hit in 2023 too, so she’s not fully out of the music scene while filming. 

 

Isn’t she expected to return to Vegas later this year with a revamped show? A one-off single could be nice if so and then do her next album after the movie.

Can we please just enjoy what we've seen so far without trying to come up with something unfounded to worry about? Jaoquin is basically the reason this movie is being made. He would not have agreed to this movie if he was upset Gaga was part of it instead of his wife. He said YES! to Gaga.
