Yeah she can definitely skip the Oscars. Arts not the charts. If she's not scheduled to perform she doesn't have to show up.

Well it’s also a defining characteristic of her beauty tbh.  She’s never tried to hide her nose and we love that.  Ann Hathaway, who was told to get a nose job many times early in her career, said her natural nose is what allowed her to change appearance so easily in different roles and stand out from other actresses.  Nose = power

The 2014 Oscar look gets a lot of hate, but that was probably created 48 hours before the red carpet and Brandon was still "new" to the scene  I think they even announced she was attending the same sunday morning.

When there isn't a huge and popular song like 'Shallow' or 'My Heart will Go on', they tend to go with the song attached to the most popular movie, reason of why Diane Warren never won in the last years, considering EEAAO is getting a lot of support awards wise and even the song made it when it was never predicted by anyone, people have started to predict it as upset to Natu Natu recently, which could be possible, they don't need to campaign for that.

Gaga has recently surpassed Chris Brown as most streamed artist on Spotify in total streams, she's now 35th most streamed artist.

 

There's only One Direction and Future between her and Beyoncé, and less than 800M streams of difference between the two, 2 months ago it was around 1 billion more or less.

 

 

She should surpass One Direction and Future easily the next weeks, but I don't know how much streams they do daily, One Direction less than Gaga I suppose, don't know about Future.

These are weird takes, imo. The Grammys have essentially become the VMAs so skipping them is no big deal. The Oscars, though, are still the ultimate, most prized award in the entire industry (globally), so skipping doe not make sense. I get she's busy and that's fine, but I would go out on a limb and say that it actually looks bad (to the Academy) for her to miss.
