To me ASIB was just Shallow, its unexpected success and the award season afterwards... It was grand but it wasn't like a typical era with music videos, different performances, interviews, etc. With ASIB Gaga had a storyline to follow and her looks were mostly in the same vein of formal/classy... During Artpop she was more spontaneous, daring and intriguing.

It was even better. ASIB was red carpet after red carpet, premiere after premiere, and incremental success with each passing week. It was exciting seeing her get a global smash hit & album after 7 years of detriment. It was also the first era where she was universally praised & heralded by the critics & public alike. Idk about MVs, any old pop tart can sing a song & stand in front of a green screen. With ASIB, Gaga showed she was a once in a generation SUPERSTAR, on screen, in-person, and in music. Venice 2018 to Met Gala 2019 was literally non-stop winning… what a time to be alive :jonny3:

This is a complete rewrite of what it was like to follow Gaga during the artpop era. It was awful. Single flops, single switches, the worst execution of any of her eras, obvious signs of depression and over reliance on drugs, cancellations of major projects, everyone dunking on her, her team leaving her, a video potentially simulating sexual assault featuring r kelly  that gets cancelled, etc. all while her competitors were peaking in success. It was miserable to be on this forum during that time.

Complaint after complaint would come in if she had another era like artpop.

This may be true as a whole but I found it much more interesting back then, the album was great when it leaked and even though the era became bumpy, it was still exciting to follow until she took a long break after the performance with Aguilera and during the filming of the Artpop film.. but then she returned with an amazing music video and that infamous performance of Swine... See, it was a true era!

The ASIB tour would have been an absolutely massive sold out stadium tour worldwide if it ever happened. The hype was unreal.

A cast reunion for ASIB's 10th anniversary in 2028 like Bradley suggested in this interview (and how the Encanto cast did last year) would actually be an amazing way to celebrate its success and legacy.

The success, acclaim and award season that she had were indeed amazing to say the least but I guess I wasn't such a stan anymore during ASIB since I only jumped on the bandwagon when her Oscar nominations came out and she appeared in that violet dress at the Golden Globes. That's why it felt so short to me but for the rest of the fans it was probably a different experience.

Yeah not for me. I remember the first pictures of her on the boat at Venice & knew she wasn’t playing around. And nvm she looked her hottest since 2011

This was a really good cover. They nailed the bridge when so many can't.

Not even gaga can do it properly :bird:

Ok but Gar kinda needs a chill album that can be played while driving or in the afternoon while watching the sunset, something R&B-ish, acoustic-ish, baroque pop-ish, those type of albums do really good on streaming, and maybe she can finally get an 80+ album on metacritic

LG7 mood board based on Gaga songs:

- Look What I Found

- So Happy I Could Die

- We Could Be Lovers

- Beautiful Dirty Rich

- Just Another Day

- The Edge of Glory

- Speechless

- MANiCURE

I feel like there’s a vision here. Lush synths, rock edge, anthemic choruses, hip hop cool factor.

Kinda, but without the country influences and with softer vocals, think about The Cure vocals, DWUW's pre-chorus vocals, Heal Me vocals.

0 on Metacritic here we go

ezgif-5-b867177c5f.thumb.gif.7a93f41f89e

The real LG7 mood board should be:

--> Because the Night - Patti Smith

--> Rock N' Roll Suicide - David Bowie

--> Purple Rain & When Doves Cry - Prince

--> Good Fortune - PJ Harvey

An album full of classics like these would have crazy longevity

What she actually needs to do is take the "rock" elements from Born This Way and turn them up a few thousand notches, name the album "LADY GAGA", and watch everyone and their mothers have a stroke

That'd be heaven on earth (with r&b and jazz influences)

Can’t forget This is Love by Legend Harvey, Better Be Good to Me by Legend Tina, I Found Someone by Legend Cher, and Magic Man by Legend Heart

I was going by Gaga songs, not other artists. That would be a completely different mood board

Like I'm by no means a Xtina fan but she snapped her, imagine a Gar album with this sound

Who said the impact date for Bloody Mary is in two days? Looked through the last few pages, couldnt find anything.

I want an arena rock song (We Could Be Lovers) with TEOG’s Chorus, with SCHID’s synths, with BDR’s groove, with MANiCURE’s guitars and LWIF vocals to be LG7’s lead

spacer.png

It’s taking different elements from each of them to create a unique sound. Do you really think I want another regressive album like Chromatica?
