Honestly. While it's having a pretty big moment, the objective likelihood of this spiraling into a true chart smash is just low regardless. And honestly, charts are broken so who cares unless you're stuck in 2005. Units and streams matter more now tbh.

 

We could make the RUTH comparison, but that was clearly bigger and had to fight tooth and nail for a TTH placement. Imo, BM doing decently on radio, continuing to get general playlist support, and having stellar recurrents that cement it as a well-known deep cut would be fabulous. Hopefully she is able to capitalize on her momentum sometime soon with a new release.

I don't think anyone's really desperate for anything right now. I'm pretty sure we're all just happy with what it is, and we all know this isn't RUTH, considering it wasn't even in the show, but this is far more viral than any viral hit in the past couple of years, and it's only just beginning. So much potential left, I don't see why we can't be excited about that

It was only after this moment that the other popstars from her generation discovered art and fashion, so every concept, hit album, interesting dress and music video from 2010 and onwards was thanks to Gaga. RUTH is not even comparable with BM situation imo, that song is one of the most popular and recognizable song from the 80s just from the first musical notes of the  instrumental alone, it has been used plenty of times on tv shows, movies, and radios have always occasionally played it, it was already a classic, people were basically already familiar with it, even Gen z in a way or another heard it somewhere previously, that is why it managed to have a second big wind thanks to Netflix exposure, but tones of 80s songs are used on big Netflix shows and they don't become that big for those reasons.

 

BM is a total new song for the GP, having reached this level of popularity over TikTok videos is already a big achivement, regardless of how much it's gonna last.
