Not when she's winning for J:FaD :jonnycat:

Don't wanna jinx it or anything, but it would make a ton of sense and a prestige take on Harley with musical sequences would be insanely flashy/baity :jonnycat:

One statistic that has held true for 20 years is that Best Actress is not won by villain characters. Winning by portraying Harley Quinn would be an uphill battle. Also, we are 2 whole award cycles away from J:FADs release. Who knows what the state of the film industry will be at that time

The best we can hope for J:FAD is that it is a massive blockbuster hit and that Gaga gets a Best Actress nomination.
And maybe the soundtrack will be a huge hit like ASIB. It will be a weird situation if Gaga wins Best Original Song for Hold My Hand this upcoming award season and then 3 years later a song from J:FAD is an undeniable winner. Gaga could have 3 Best Original Song Oscars in a 7 year period, though I can’t see any song being more iconic than Shallow

Eh, Charlize Theron won for Monster, Natalie Portman for Black Swan, and Frances McDormand for Three Billboards, all of which were very dark/antagonistic/unlikeable characters. Keep in mind that Gaga will probably be the film's best shot at an above-the-line win cuz Joaquin def ain't winning again for the same role and the film would have to be truly undeniable for picture, director, or screenplay. Her campaign is gonna be massive and for a movie that will very likely be massive. And that's ignoring that she will have a tangible narrative after the snub and it would follow the Cher trajectory. Her acting win will probably be a big "movie star" win and it would make sense for it to be for this project. Not saying it's a sure thing by any means, but all the seeds are there.

And, there's a good chance Kendrick wins Original Song this year for Black Panther and who knows if there's  even original music for J:FaD. They shoot in 3 months and the script has been presumably written for awhile. Original music for this type of musical would've needed to be done ages ago. If anything, she probably won't do another one for a movie she starts in until she wins BA.

Say what you want, but the Kardashian/Jenner/Their teams are amazing at having the personal and the brand accounts on point.

In what way was Natalie Portman unlikeable in black swan? :deadbanana: She was the victim in the whole movie.

Anyway

A visual representation of the era basically.

Gaga usually wins prominent awards when she's undeniable and i kinda like it that way tbh.

One of the best days to be a stan. Such a beautiful song.

Shallow deserved Song Of The Year tho

That part. Her winning for random crap no one cares about is beneath her. Her achieving an EGOT should feel like a major moment, not something that gets forgotten the next day. Nobody would've even known she won an Emmy tonight for whatever was nominated (like I genuinely couldn't tell you the name).

Exactly, we want her on that stage accepting her award, giving a speech, crying, going viral and all that ****. Now that is a MOMENT to remember. :alexz:

A “winning AOTY for LFS would be a bad thing” teas

I said it months ago, this year has been unlucky when it comes to awards so I knew she wouldn't have won, but the real Tea that some of you have already said it's that it would be more impressive for her to win an actual acting one for something that is remembered and making it a moment out of it.

Winning an Emmy for Variety special would have been cute but it would have been just another stat nobody would have remembered or cared since there's no ceremony or speech.

To me it's pointless being an EGOT like jennifer Hudson, when 3 out of 4 awards are for things nobody knows-cares or a producing credit shared with 44 people like in her case for the Emmy, I prefer waiting for things more memorable, and Best Actress Oscar has still the priority over complete the EGOT status.

She needs to win her Emmy for acting, that would be a serve and reminder for the haters to stfu and stop doubting Gaga

But best actress Oscar first :alexz3: she has the fire in her, no one else does

It definitely wouldn't have been a bad thing, like for sure it's better than never getting one, but at the same time it would have been kind of reductive giving to her AOTY for an album of covers when she has brilliant projects that deserved more.

That being said, AOTY is never going to happen at this point, if she couldn't win with one of her massive first 3 albums, or a best selling soundtrack with a winning Oscar and BAFTA on it (totally snubbed), or a duet album shared with an ultimate legend who is retiring at almost 100 because of health condition in a year with zero competition, she's never going to win that one.

When it comes to Grammys Gaga should ditch them for long time, this year they didn't even give to her the opportunity of making a speech with her only win, once again letting her in the audience like a moron.

Serving Hot scalding Tea from you as usual.

Still think you guessed right with 'Cabaret' music being used on this, or at least I expect more covers of classics or sampled music.

I agree that a Black Panther song will probably win. But at this moment, there is a no Black Panther song out yet and Gaga is the current front runner.

I’m sure that they will let Gaga have one original song in J:FAD. Even if 95% of the songs in the movie are covers. They will want a huge Oscar campaign with nominations in as many categories as possible, including Best Original Song. It would of been a massive missed opportunity to have a Best Original Song winner in your musical and not have her write at least one song

Not her serving
