It's because those shows are close to her whereas international shows wouldn't be.

It's a combination of both their faults. It's just sad, and funny, when you consider songs like MKIA and HBS were bigger hits in the UK than they were in the U.S - the audience was still here for her. Labels should have taken note and pushed more singles overseas. But when the Xmas album dropped and there was no international promo I knew the writing was on the wall. 

 

We all know Kelly can be (or used to be) a little lazy/complacent at the popstar/chart game, but considering how she's been growing her celebrity lately with The Voice, the talk show, movies, collabs, music projects - it's just strange that no one around her has reminded her that she has a legit fanbase WW.

 

And I get the kids thing, but she literally said herself that her kids love travelling and they keep going away to visit new places. Plus, she could easily schedule a show when she doesn't have the kids. 

 

For example, with the huge success of UTT in the UK, they should have got her to do a Xmas TV special, tied it in with a 1 off concert here, there is like 5 or 6 huge celebrity Xmas shows here every year. She could easily do a WW tour as well, but just do 1 date in certain areas, it would give her time to travel inbetween with kids.

It only takes 7/8 hours to fly to Europe. She could legit fly over do a show and be back in NY within a day. She just chooses to do other things, but its a conscious choice, its not geographical. 

That would probably not be very cost effective. 

The only other downside I can think of her not wanting to come overseas is the earnings are less cos we don't pay us$$$$$ prices for concerts here but even still, it baffles when you consider flight times and fanbases. She really should do one off London shows for her European fans. It's not a huge commitment plus as Cupid says, it gives ample opportunity to travel minus the time dedicated to soundcheck and the concert etc.

EXACTLY  Also, it's not just Kelly and her kids but also her band, hair/makeup/stylist, assistant, etc.

 

Can't imagine how much money it costs just to do one gig, especially overseas 

 

Ultimately though, if Kelly really wanted to do it, she would make it happen... the fact that it hasn't happened yet says a lot

She just doesn't want to. 

She can't just show up for one day with all new people that she has never worked with before and expect to put together a show.

Well, of course she doesn't want to. Kelly doesn't want to tour within the United States, let alone outside of it.

 

Right now, she's happy doing an occasional residency with a few nights in Vegas. It takes more than a day to drive to Vegas from where I live, so it's not like she's worried about even providing convenient options to see her perform live within the country where her demand is the highest. Her career right now is no longer focused on music and that's okay. We all just gotta move on to new artists and appreciate whatever she chooses to put out. But, she has other priorities now.

Some artists hardly ever tour or do many shows. Kelly is not obligated to make sure every fan gets a chance to see her.

Since Kelly is independent, het team should consider releasing the studio versions after each is released on TKCS. In real time. Take advantage of when they go viral. We all saw she records them anyways so she can listen to them before hand and for backgrounds. Might as well release them. I'm referring to the benson Boone video that showed her recording before hand.

Someone suggested a one off show since she doesn't have time to tour, and that is what isn't cost effective. It is a lot of people to pay to travel plus equipment for only one or even a few shows. I think it will be a few more years until the kids get older that she tours again.

I have been out of the loop. Do we think a new original album is coming? Or do we think Studio Sessions will be the first album she releases under her own label and it could be the covers album everyone has been asking for? I could see her doing this, releasing an original single as buzz for it and then continuing the covers theme with the Vegas shows.  

Im here for anything but man that your love cover kinda is begging for a quick fire release while its mega hot on TikTok - perhaps a shame for the song she's working on but my goodness that is an opportunity that, if they can get the permissions, is literally an actual hit waiting to happen. Bet nothing will happen, or if it does it'll have lost the hype, but I'm excited for everything and anything that's music coming our way 

Came here to attest her Your Love cover on Tiktok has gone viral. I just got past more than 5 tiktoks with +100 K per video on the WLW side of the app. 

Obviously it looks like they're not going to be able to - or want to - capitalise on this with a release of the cover in the quick term (I get the barriers), so I just hope that her management figure out how to take advantage of the people who took notice of the cover (particularly WLW lol) when they release what's seemingly coming soon with the mv, and maybe later down the line release a new covers ep with your love as a focus track

I went to a taping of the show today! She's doing a rendition of Heartbeat Song airing March 31. Didn't get to hear it but I'm not mad at that 

 

My friend who used to work at Atlantic before everything went down also confirmed she left because so many of the people she worked with got let go. Shitty situation since it seemed like she was happy before that.

You Love Me is one of her most underrated tracks IMO, so straightforward but also so gutting. The whole album has aged really well!

Stronger has not aged that well for me honestly. YLM and LMD are clear standout tracks, though. Meaning of Life, though, only gets better with age. From the clever "A Minute" introduction to the immaculate closing track, "Don't You Pretend"... The production and vocal delivery of that album is just something else.

I can see why Stronger might have aged well for some people. A lot of it is 2000s pop rock (ironic considering the album came out at the end of 2011), and some of the lyrics are a bit questionable (Einstein and Don't Be a Girl About It come to mind), but I'm a sucker for that sound and the lyrics never detract from my enjoyment of the album.

 

I am still baffled as to why the album had only 3 singles and why Dark Side was chosen as the follow-up to Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You). I like the track but there were stronger choices on the album (Let Me Down and You Can't Win were so obvious, especially the latter).
