it suffers from a simple, overdone melody (and a subpar instrumental) but the vocal production and delivery is really something else, bottom 3 is crazy

Ugly melodies, poorly written and probably her most demo-sounding song ever. I don't agree on the vocal production part and I wish I could at least say I appreciate the attitude but I don't hear like her heart was in it either

 

It's just such a subpar song, same with Quicksand. Garibay ain't seeing heaven. Good thing they were just regional exclusives but still, there's way better and more interesting outtakes from the era that could've taken their place.

as in it's one of the most unique vocal productions for her but i agree it totally sounds like a demo, i actually always thought it was since ive never heard it while intentionally playing it until earlier today while writing that

Can't remember from what I saw but I believe it was the label/her management trying to encourage her to get back into the studio by presenting her tracks to record. Clearly didn't work (to what we know of anyways).

I just finished reading the book (yes I'm a litte late) and damn, I just love her so much. She has been through so much in her life. I just hope she's doing ok at the moment.
