Beyoncé

This is part 1 of the Beyoncé discussion.

Had she just announced this tour IMMEDIATELY after the Beyoncé bowl. Those tickets would've sold out instantly. 100%, and that's my only complaint with her this whole era.

She would've been able to avoid the whole LA fire controversy as well and those tickets would've aaallll already been bought before that stuff happened. Let's also not forget that Diddy bullsh*t too. :deadbanana2:

that must be the gross without VIP tickets, because no way $800 was the highest ticket price.

Does this mean Ticketmaster is the only one who profits from dynamic pricing?

For the promotion strategy she had planned, four dates would've worked fine for LA. She could've have sold more sections and overall attendance and gross would've been similar.

She's obviously still made huge profit. But the strategy led to the media running those stories about demand. I think that suppressed demand as there was no incentive to buy tickets and people just watched prices fall.

The dynamic pricing was giving me the impression that the gross would be much higher, but I wasn't expecting the attendance to be lower.

A $350-400m tour is still great, she toured 2 years ago which is barely a break for our wallets.

That's not just great girl that's INSANE. With an only 35 date tour??? :deadbanana2:

Oh, Beyoncé done set the bar so high even her own fans can't believe it.

:sabrina:

the tour was packed...we saw video proof of it night after night...there was no attendance issue

the stage IS much bigger & takes up more of the floor than RWT did so there was be less attendance all around

this is more about fans once again creating their own delusions of grandeur and being brought back to reality

I was expecting around 50-60 mill, maybe 70 if attendance was higher but this is great. Yes there were some missteps like starting on a Monday and mostly weekday shows and the economy, LA fires, etc but this is such a gag imo. For her to do 5 stadium shows in LA with a COUNTRY album that did not have much gp appeal unfortunately is amazing.

Where are the biggest country music tour boxscore  gross headlines??????

I feel like it could have been a cute $50m more had someone not farted and lit the desert on fire, the announcement of an announcement was botched. Anyway, she's near a billion gross with less than 90 dates. Some can't even do that with 635 dates to be exact.

:sabrina:

It's definitely impressive, I'm just interested in the effect of dynamic pricing. CCWT tickets were initially marketed somewhere around 35-40% more expensive than RWT, but ended up being 12% cheaper.

Oh period I guess that means London will take the record when the grosses get announced then? Or will NY beat it?

I agree, we saw they had to remove 4 sections from the floor for each show, which will dramatically impact the attendance numbers, not to mention those areas are high ticket price areas.

55 million is super impressive, and the power to fill the stadium 5 times is mostly unparalleled

The grosses for Houston, DC, Atlanta, and Chicago will be wild

Which city had the highest gross for rennie? I swore it was LA

Omg the CEO of Ticketmaster is also the president and CEO of Live Nation. And Live Nation and Roc Nation have been business partners forever. In a perfect world, Beyoncé would find a different promoter if she can't opt out of making Ticketmaster turn off dynamic pricing, but do we think that's honestly going to happen? This is just another thing to roll my eyes at when it comes to her marriage to #him :ace:

yes, live nation has a monopoly on the entertainment event industry. although other promoters like AEG exist, live nation has the majority share of the market and they milk it for all its worth. i watched a video about it from the Wall Street Journal. Basically they own stakes in the management companies (LN owns a stake in roc nation for example) and in the vendors at the event (LN owns a stake in Liquid Death), and of course in ticketmaster, so they are able to force venues to use their ticketing system in order to book artists under their roster and use their beverages at the concession stands and they collect money 360 degrees from every aspect of the show. it's nuts.
