For me, I just worry that trying to make the gworls care (in any kind of sustained way) about visuals for Break My Soul, Cuff It, Texas etc years after release may not deliver on the "buzz" she wants or expects.

Audiences have increasingly short attention spans, so I worry that it will be "ah, that's cool" for a brief window and then everyone moves on to whatever is randomly trending on social media that week.
 

The one upside of all of this is that I can see it being something altogether different from her previous visual albums (even though the medium itself is the same). Also, given her whole "I don't repeat myself" thing, here's hoping she never does this delayed ish again.
 

(I will never NOT believe that she unintentionally boxed herself into a corner with this whole trilogy venture. Less the album side of things but the video/film component. Her brand may be "perfection" (and I literally stan her for that), but I damn near know for certain that the whole visuals thing has been furthest thing from perfection - behind the scenes.

 

In the weirdest way, it's been one of the things I've found frustrating about the Hive. Some of us are dragging her for the wrong things lol. There seems to be this air that she's playing games with the visuals and moving super deliberately with her "strategy". The reality is that she more than likely is rolling with the punches in realtime and figuring it out as she goes. E.g oscillating between standalone films, scrapping ish, combining separate films into one, etc. I'd sooner say drag her for THAT i.e not having her ducks in a row in terms of a visual/film that was ready to roll (at least) for Rennie's release.
 

We literally know sis was "allegedly" struggling to find a streamer to buy whatever quirky film she cooked up with  Nadia Lee Cohen way back when. So, it always baffles me when she gets tugged for being some kind of "evil genius" controlling the tide of how things are going with the visuals).

The irony of this all is that - whether the visuals are a huge monumental moment or a passing slay - she will still be praised for it "being the plan all along". And I kind of love that for her (jarring as it will have been for…us).

As I mentioned earlier: It's all about pay off.

If we get "basic" high-budget MVs or a film, we will gag for a sec and move on and the GP won't really care.

 

If she completely reinvents herself and MVs and uses technology like never before, we might see the resurgence of the Trilogy in realtime.

 

If the pay off feels fine, its gonna be a success. If not, no one will care.

But her biggest crime is not releasing the Renaissance tour movie + live album... like girl we already saw the damn film. Put it on any website I'll literally rent/buy VOD.

Watch her just release the visuals as the 3 tour films together as a trilogy package after the act iii tour is done and after she showed them in theaters individually. You are the visuals baby. 
 

As far as music videos she shot, whatever she did for Renny most likely scrapped and just used the settings for pics, no videos even shot for CC and act iii just picture editorials for promo and whatever videos are tour interludes.

I don't know how some of you do rankings every day. I just tried to rank her albums and I nearly threw up. Because what do you mean Lemonade is in fifth place? It's number 1. They all are.

It's been a while since I've revisited it and I probably should do it more often, but it is what it is, like so many said before, you have to be in the mood. That said, the Lemonade film is a masterpiece and deep down I know it's probably the one thing she is most proud of, and rightfully so.

Honestly, I want her to go back to sounds like Diana Ross' Bad Girls, more horns, fun, bright music.
