  • It was the best concert of my life, bar none. Idc!    It was extraordinary, it was ineffable.  I knew I loved it based on the videos but I... Hey I don't know.    Best moment

I know this award is a joke but the point is, she has cemented herself in history with the likes of Whitney and Lauryn. And on top of that she won an award for a genre that completely ridiculed and ex

So it's December 13th… 11 years since ST.

I just watched the visual album back and wow I'm still in awe of how she pulled this off. One of her most ambitious projects to date. And it's not even like the songs/videos are just ok, she delivered 14 brilliant songs and 17 stellar videos at once. Nobody does it like her. :jonny5:

I'll never forget the feeling when she dropped that Friday morning. It's one of those moments where everyone remembers where they were.

11 years ago I started screaming in the middle of a gay club bc I saw new Beyoncé videos up and down my Twitter feed, ran back to my dorm room, watched BEYONCÉ all night and saw her in concert the very next day

Edit: Also 11 years ago, Beyoncé became a bonafide LEGEND!!! Literally the greatest pop star of the 21st century. The day her success could no longer be quantified

The night of the self titled drop is one for the Stan history books indeed.

Happy for most peoples success but to come close to a moment like that is not one that comes easy

Not Yvette commenting on this of all things and basically just negating the specific time slot but not specifying it.

Yvette needs to pull a Beyonce and stay OFF of social media.

American Requiem was made for the main stage. The more I listen to it the more apparent it gets. Same for Ya Ya. She came with this album to perform on a grand scale. Texas and 16C will devour too. 12 more days! :jonny2:

Self Titled is her absolute BEST.
It felt like a whole ass luxury brand of music compared to anything going on at the time.

The end of Jolene is so masterful, I still sometimes wish she did not make a cover or covered another song but just for that ending, I'm OK.

ST is legendary and still my fave album (next to Rennie, I can't pick!). Will never forget waking up to the news, was about to go into one of my uni exams and just couldn't stop thinking about how I'm going to go home after and listen/watch it haha

I love Jolene because of that last minute or so. It's so good.

When I listen to it, I skip right to that part and let it flow to Daughter.

Wait why are we not talking about this? :deadbanana: This is the first award she's won in a country field from any award show. :gayoncecat3:

It really came as a surprise that we got Grown Woman last year. The celebration video was also nice.

If only she kept the presents coming every Dec 13th and released Donk tonight. Standing on The Sun (original version) next year.

The way I'm cackling about two Swifties making threads complaining that Taylor didn't win this, only for me to find out that she wasn't even nominated. :deadbanana2:

In that case I don't blame her for not releasing the visuals. We clearly don't deserve them. :rip:

It's clear that there's just zero buzz around this era. I think if she dropped a high quality music video for Alien Superstar - a 2+ year old non single - there would be more hype than a video for Bodyguard. It does make me worry about Christmas but we'll see (excited to be re-energised)

The media landscape has changed a lot in the last 5-10 years though. People consume videos on social media these days (TikTok, Insta, etc.) so not many would go watch it on YouTube. Same with watching Music TV channels. This is one of the reasons I think she's not doing traditional videos anymore and focusing on content for social media instead.
