Yes, I do think if she cares enough to show people in the genre she cares they would totally embrace her with open arms. Everyone is not racist and Beyonce DOES have a good reputation and overall respect amongst her peers in all genres.

 

I would love to see A+ list stars open up and do this more, gimme a collab with an A+ list country star with radio power and touring reach and let the numbers do what they may.

I’m so glad she got to meet and perform with her main inspiration. Tina’s influence is probably going to be all over this album.

 

And as much as I see why people what only want black collaborators, I want a Dolly Parton feature on this album, damnit!!!

I just love this woman so bad. Her constant reinvention and the deep pride she has in her culture and all facets of it is everything to me. Initially I didn't care for Texas Hold Em' but it's grown on me BAD that it could overtake 16 Carriages for me.

 

Honestly expected the flop seeing as her audience is not into country at all but people seem to be really enjoying it

Woooow, the streaming update is extremely stable. BMS and Texas Hold'Em did nearly the exact same streams (4.3M) on their second day on Spotify. BMS had a much higher placement on big playlists like TTH as well. This song might be sticking!

The way a top 10 PEAK was my barometer of success and now it's looking to DEBUT top 10 (possibly top 5). It's amazing. 

 

I love how nicely it sets the era up too. Because best case scenario, it catches on and sticks. Worst case scenario, it's a fleeting top 10 and she/we move on to the next focus track from the album. Either way, a top 10 hit is a top 10 hit.

I really think we need to give her team (Columbia and Parkwood) their flowers. Because, much as I love Bey and believe she has a lot of goodwill from the GP, pulling ish like this off is absolutely stategy and is not just "good luck".

 

Having the song planked atop all the Country playlists guarantees a certain amount of exposure/noise/controversy, not to mention the whole Verizon tie-in.

 

They are now ramping up at radio (with great Pop adds especially), alongside the organic promo of the Country radio boycott (which is buzzy and newsworthy and thus promo in and of itself). 

 

Not to say any of the above is groundbreaking, but I guess I say it all to say that it's way more than "luck".

 

Texas being her highest debut and Cuff It being her longest charting song  others peaking so early but she keeps outdoing herself everytime.
