The market is so volatile that it's a hard call. 

 

Around the pandemic, I remember Netflix was literally dissolving several of its first-look deals amidst dwindling viewership. Netflix and other streamers were canceling shows way quicker than usual to cost cut too.

 

Now, the tea seems to be that the strikes have the streaming itching for content. 

 

Such unstableness kind of makes it hard to strategize for multiple visuals because what could be the climate today could totally not be the case 6 months from now. 

 

Similarly, accepting a lowball offer now may make the case for more later hard when a) there are no guarantees about viewership, b) the market may be something totally different, and c) there's a very easy clap back of "why pay you more if you accepted less before'.

 

All that said, I don't have a dog in the fight. 

 

I just hope sis gets something at least close to what she wants so we can get these visuals and move tf on.

Netflix has been actually trying to cut down on this and have been ending deals with a lot of producers/comedians/others that they made during their money burning years. There was no proof ever that bey did a multi-project deal with them. 

In other news another artist films a project three weeks ago and their fans already get to buy tickets and anticipate a theater release (and the tickets are selling out the entire weekend at theaters). It's almost like striking while the iron is hot benefits the fans AND the artist

the good news is that the only visuals in existence are confirmed to be only for renaissance

I would've been perfectly fine with this as long as one of them was Virgo's Groove.

I think she gets high on making money. Which, fair! But it's like she's chasing the dragon

I think holding The Gift and BIK against her is unfair. She could have promoted more, but I’m shocked people believe it could have went further than it did. Truthfully, it’s obviously a passion project that she probably sold as a way for the film to get an even bigger audience outside of the usual. Disney didn’t even treat it as an extension to the film or a soundtrack connected to the film. In my opinion, The Gift + BIK was quite possibly the biggest passion project she ever did.  Disney didn’t promote it as a film soundtrack. We haven’t gotten a behind the scenes of Lem/Ren, but we got one for The Gift.

See it is possible they passed, if she asking for an insane amount that not even someone like taylor could get. So i can see that happening, but i agree with everything else you said.

In another universe, the renaissance trailer ends with "IN THEATERS... Tickets available NOW". Then after the movie the tour is announced and everyone who bought tickets to the movie get early access codes to buy tickets.

I won't say too much more on this toopic but we've seen that being a huge musician doesn't mean you can that power into viewship of a movie. We also haven't seen the film whilst they have (at least a version of it). But either way we're 100% getting these visuals and anything could of happened between early 2023 and now... For all we know, one of the studios could of suggested reshoots/re-edit etc. Main thing is its clearly coming
