I believe if the visuals were scrapped she wouldn't have kept the "queen moves at her own pace" moment. And most of her recent looks on tour have been referencing the visuals so I do think we're close, like the recent red Formation look was very close to the AHAP visuals look. Same for the black and white opening look from yesterday, it definitely felt intentional after she included that Mind Control thing on the Echoes cover art

People saying that Fans who are complaining because they seek chart success are WRONG. 4 era is still to this day very valued in hindsight despite the obvious dump in success after IASF BECAUSE she gave it her all and served drive and persistence. We love the music just as we love the incredible performances we got and still can watch every single day. Because we can still look at the DVD, the SB, etc.. its never "just" the music when it comes to Beyonce and us being Fans of her. Its the package.

Her giving us one of her best materials ever dedicated to us gays and then doing 0 with it will always be disappointing. Not commercially, but as fans

Pop music/culture has been in the gutter and for her not to shake it up to the fullest extent over the last year is so lame. I won’t go as far as saying I feel let down or jipped because she did deliver quality music, but ima just say it and say she probably shot the visuals before she started Ozempics and felt some type of way after how good she looked after the fact and wanted to do a redo.

SCREAMING!  :coffee:

I have so many layered thoughts on the delay...some of which you kinda just mentioned (the girls ain't ready for that convo en masse). What's both intriguing and annoying is the fact that we'll likely never know-know the real issue. Whether in coming interviews or a doc, they'll spin it and make it seem like the grand plan.

Anything she "admits" will be carefully stage-managed.

If it's not liking how she looked, it'll be "something...wasn't right. I have to feel it first...even if we have to spend millions reshooting, I don't mind for the art"

If it's the injury, it'll be spun in a way and at a time that doesn't affect the perception of the visuals and/or tour. So, rather than say anything that impacts her insurability or questions about her present-day capabilities, it will be spun as a heroic comeback story of bouncing back to peak condition against the odds.

Let's just hope it's all coming soon because it's like the era is stuck in this everlasting limbo. IMO, the visuals slaying, us gagging, her spinning mess behind the scenes into gold frontstage is all fairly inevitable. But can we just get things moving so we can collectively (us, her, everyone) move on to the next thing/chapter.

Meh, I'm on the ledge with her. I wasn't expecting anything so I'm not dissapointed and my opinion on the state of her career remains the same.

Beyoncé is a legend. She's cemented her status and has nothing to prove any more. There's a method to her madness and her career speaks for itself. She'll always have her fans and even the casual admirers will be there to snatch tickets up to fill those venues when she goes on tour. The money will continue to roll in as well.

Where this really hurts her is her catalogue. Beyoncé's inability to properly execute an era has negatively impacted her catalogue. Lemonade is one of the most acclaimed records of all time, but it's recurrent streams and poor longevity on the charts speaks volumes. RENAISSANCE was the perfect opportunity to turn that around, but once again, her refusal to give proper attention to the album and its singles will grant the record the same fate as Lemonade in the long run. It's longevity is all thanks to her fambase who pushed on social media to make it a hit.

It's why I've always said Taylor Swift took the Beyoncé print and perfected it. It's why those catalogue streams are still healthy and why those old albums chart as long as they do. Even Rihanna is currently pulling in more streams, and that's thanks to those HITS.

It's funny that Beyoncé purposely shifted her career to focus on albums for the sake of her catalogue lasting longer, but her albums have since been neglected and the long run failed to gain that status.

Again, I'm not surprised, and her career is still in a good place, but I'm about 90% sure that RENAISSANCE, despite its potential will age like Lemondade. Acclaimed and revered, but I don't see it charting for years and I don't see Beyoncé's catalogue streams improving or doing much going forward.

She needs a revamp.

She needs an attitude adjustment.  She's the problem.  But what event would shock her enough to make her rethink her strategies? That's the million dollar question.

She's made being elusive a large part of her public persona, so she can get away with not communicating with the fans at all because it's her style. I would appreciate if she did communicate with us like most other artists do, just to let us know her plan after teasing the visuals, it's the least she could do tbh. I've never really seeked the visuals too much because I think the music and tour are super strong, but the constant teasing isn't fair.

I love the album so much but I wasn't able to go to the tour so I was hoping for the visuals as something to focus on for a while. I don't care about her chart positions or her other business ventures. I just want great music (which we got), some music videos and the tour being released on Netflix or elsewhere next year. I don't think that's asking a lot from her. I would also like a clearer idea of when Act II will be released but that's definitely asking too much😄

At this point I do think the visuals are only coming after tour. She can release them in October (remember the Halloween theories and the horror movies references?) and then kickstart the Act II era in November with the parfum.

She’s on a world wide tour what do y’all expect from her? I had the funds to attend and I would probably be mad as well if I didn’t go!! hehe the tour was the visual. Deal with it.

Those Halloween theories were for October........2022 :deadbanana4: Hive has gone through more than the marines

A lot of you keep buying into various fan made up theories and then you get disappointed. Why on earth would she release visuals on the anniversary? Because bunch of twitter stan accounts came up with that theory? During this era there have been so many theories, you all started buying into these lies and end up being disappointed. In the meantime she never ever promised or announced to do anything.  so this is purely on you and not being able to filter out dumb theories.

Move on people enjoy the music. She has given us clues for a decade now what she is like and what she is not like - do not expect anything rom her or feel she has to do anything so you could feel better. Release the wiggle!

Hmmm I expect the visuals to be tied to act ii in some way now.

i dont know what s better, reading every few days a new  fan theory of the week or boring comments 'bring thique back'.

or that ariana remix that was supposed to be oout a month ago, or solange remix that was due for july.  fake news.

I agree...to a degree...but I also think you kind of answered your own question/request.

Being "elusive" and moving in a totally different way from her MPG peers is now cemented as her..."thing".

No one, including mega-sellers like Adele and Taylor, will sell by the bucketload forever. So, perhaps by force, Bey has very deliberately and smartly been moving "anti" and anchoring her success and relevance against a different metric system since what went down with 4.

It shows up in everything from the Friday release of self-titled to dropping Lemonade without a full week of sales (that 600k debut could easily have been a milli) to not sending obvious songs to radio to not promoting to the current BS with the visuals.

It generally works, she's essentially bigger than ever at a time her sales pale in comparison to her commercial peak. The woman essentially dropped one IG picture and sold-out an entire world tour. No commercials, no performances, nothing. Just an IG pic.

But- like most things - if taken too far it can backfire. And, in some ways, already has (EIL, BIK).

IMO, rather than spilling her plans verbatim (which just won't happen), she/her team should better handle key moments. So, rather than dropping that Kendrick remix and hoping for the best, they should have sent it to radio. Even if just Urban. Similarly, she loses none of her elusiveness acknowledging the Travis song, etc even if just an IG story. They aren't even using her TikTok in a "handled by my team" capacity either. It's odd. When it comes to the visuals, she could have dropped another teaser. The translation effectively being: "it's still coming, b*tches."

In short, there's a bunch they can and should be doing to push things while preserving her air of elusive. Hell, very little of that even requires "her".

That said, I really do feel they are (overly) sticking to the marketing 101 practice of "limit the supply, increase the demand". Essentially the commercial version of "treat 'em mean to keep 'em keen". And frustrating as it is to admit, it's kind of still working. It won't forever, but it is now.

At this point, it's the only thing that would make sense.

Much as we'd still all gag if the visuals are for Rennie-only, it would almost certainly be BIK for her all over again. A "beautiful gowns" treatment from the GP, who briskly move on (despite it being her best visual to date). There is simply a limit on how hot you can warm up material that's been out for over a year.

What will be really interesting to see is if it's one integrated visual or if it's neatly split in two (within the same film).

I almost like the idea of being kept on my toes: so the format kinda goes (for example) Alien into Echoes into a run of totally new songs into Move, Energy etc.

But, at the same time, if it's her primary vehicle for promoting Act 2, it arguably makes most sense for it to have its own long-form chapter (within the same film).

I like this theory of the visuals/film being delayed so she can cover act 1 & 2 but what about act 3 ? At this point it's clear she won't make a major move while she's touring so one can expect act 2 and/or the visuals in October at the earliest.

That's all very true and really interesting to look at it from the limited supply marketing strategy as you've mentioned at the end.

I don't except her to comment on the visuals any time soon, it's not her thing, I just think it would be better for the fans if she did communicate more. She knows in the long run though people won't remember the lack of visuals (if they're never released), but will remember how great the album and tour were.

I think she could also be "limiting the supply" of her music in a way, for example not trying to be particularly present on radio and in the charts (despite Break My Soul and Cuff It being hits, but other than that staying away). I think her team may feel that that helps the elusiveness of her brand. Though for us fans it would be great if she gave us a proper era even with very little effort.

I think y’all should stop expecting and thinking what’s coming. Whatever you think of won’t happen. She’ll do as she wants to

I think we made peace with the fact shes unpredictable. That however does not make her immune to criticism. The era is boring because of her, and she still do what she wants. Both things can be true at the same time
