I know this award is a joke but the point is, she has cemented herself in history with the likes of Whitney and Lauryn. And on top of that she won an award for a genre that completely ridiculed and ex

anyone know where that pic is from?

No, but the guy they're with is French chef Jean Imbert. So maybe when they were last in France?

They're styles are SO different, like not a single thing about them would click in a collab. And I don't even want to imagine a live performance :toofunny2:

They both could have been on Wild Thoughts imo

Bey has music with all these artists and yall don't think she could pull one off with Rihanna :skull:

2 times collaborator DJ Khaled is just more up her alley

I haven't heard either of those songs in years and I'm fine with that. I really did enjoy Shining years ago though.

Princess of Chine/Hymn for the Weekend is another example. They could make a ballad, pop song, love making song, twerk anthem. Maybe they could do a song for charity since Bey hates potential #1s

Y’all think it’s VERY weird that Bey and Rih never collabed. Like they’re both Black R&B artists that have almost identical friend circles. Miss Fenty is about to retire and we’ll never get a cute single :hoetenks:

not really

big name stars don't always collab

Comparisons about who carried the song would ensue had they collaborated.

Bey would wash as she does in every collab.

The Rih collab wouldve been both TIMELY and PERFECT in 2011 - 2014 but Beyonce decided to go AWAY from the sound of the time and record 4.

4 if forgotten trash tbh, sorry, and Beyonce could've had multiple MASSIVE hits leaving IASF if she collabed with Rihanna or even a couple DJs.

Hard truths.

:psyduck:

I don't even want to imagine a world where we had to trade Love on Top and Dance For You for some whack ass rihanna or dj collab

Like don't even mention it

How is 4 forgotten? It's low key her most classic album. Countdown, RTW, Dance For You, End Of Time, 1+1, Party all feel very remembered/well known.

If she would’ve done that she would’ve ended up like usher lmao. 4, an album focused on classic sounds and bucking the trend of what’s hot on radio was what she needed at the time to transition from pop girl to legend. A rih collab would’ve been cute though and it doesn’t matter when they do it it’ll be a collapse regardless.

Cant believe you called 4 forgotten trash when most of its singles are more remembered that the songs from self titled. Like even love on top is more of a classic than drunk in love

Run the world and love on top are two of her most ICONIC songs, 1+1 is one of my favorite ballads ever I’m so glad she made 4 instead of EDM garbage lmfao. THAT would’ve been forgotten

Timeless songs? Lol, no one remembers **** from 4 lol.

Countdown completely flopped. RTW embarrassed the **** outta us at the time (hard time tbh) and Love On Top (now a classic) did nothing at the time.

The rest is FORGETTABLE.

She TRIED to be innovative with RTW and it backfired so dont act like she wasnt TRYING to get a hit with RTW.

A Chandelier like moment for Beyonce wouldve been brilliant and dance/edm CAN be done with passion and artistry like Sia showed.

Hm. Well she certainly could have had massive hits doing this in that era, like how On the Floor was a huge success by neatly following the pop trends of the time, but I do think it would have changed the course of her career. I think 4 underperforming was perhaps the most important turning point since going solo, as it was the first time in her entire career that an era wasn't a major success in some degree, and this imo shifted how she saw herself in the industry and the aims that her music could/should have.

That being said, I don't agree that 4 is "forgotten trash" but looking back it certainly is some of her least consequential work from a music standpoint. It's Beyoncé showing off what she can do rather than making a bold artistic statement, the likes of which we'd see with BEYONCÉ and would culminate in the start-to-finish-aural-and-visual masterpiece Lemonade.

She's really hit the sweet spot between classic and contemporary, artful and commercial and I would not choose to have 2011-2014 hits at the expense of her becoming a fully formed artist in her own right.

4 did NOTHING for Bey, Self-Titled came in and saved her.

Ignoring the disturbing post from @satellites.™...

They could definitely fit on a track together, especially now more than ever with both being a lot braver in style and production. But Neither makes a habit out of collaborating with other female RnB artists unless that artists has a hand in the songs origin. i.e Consideration was meant for SZA's album. Even The weekend recorded the demo for 6inch which is probably why he's a feature. And Frank is the primary writer for his features with Bey..

There isn't really a scenario in which either is going to turn around and ask the other for a verse unless the songs meaning calls for a duet. I could see them both appear as features on the same DJ/Hip Hop song but not really for their own material.
