Anti-charthive makes me mad (not really, but you know what I mean) sometimes cause it can leak over into anti-exposure sentiment, where the prevailing logic is that we should be happy about Beyoncé becoming an underground artist.  No mama, like, if you were there for any of OTR II tour, then I don’t see how you wouldn’t hate how awkward it was when the EIL songs came on and no one could sing along.

 

I was HYPE for Apeshit, but I felt like I was the only one! I hated that ****.  Like, I’m sorry I want the whole stadium screaming out “ten ten tens, across the board” and not just the Beyhive pit or whatever fan section she has on this tour.

Meh. Bey could not get the cheque she's getting had she been some flop indie artist her entire career. You get those cheques because you have/had established your legacy through known successful hits. In 2023, streaming is the successful hits are measured, so if she wants to continue getting those cheques, or even raise her price levels, it would be in her best interest to maintain strong streaming growth.

 

As for the catalogue selling, you are misrepresenting what is happening. Streaming does pay money, it just takes a while to get it. The firms buying the catalogues would not be throwing away hundreds of millions of dollars if they knew they would not be able to recoup that money with the same catalogs. Artists are selling because they would rather get the let's say $100M up-front now, than have to wait 20 years. Either way, they would still end up with the money so it's not really a streaming issue.

I mean whats there to be happy about from a fan perspective - the last time shes shown herself publicly was in her Halloween pic and before that mostly for Tiffany

we as fans should not applaud that whatsoever.

I'm team complain but the streaming discourse is futile, it should be last of our worries. Beyoncé's been crazily popular for like 2 decades before streaming even took off. Her place in pop culture is set in stone at this point. 
 

Not to mention her main listening audience and demographic is considerably older than that of most other girls out there currently and does not engage in habbits like mass streaming as much. I for one know I don't, I play music from iTunes to this day lmao. 

I want Renaissance force fed down the GPs throat so that we can all, as a culture, stan Summer Renaissance five years from now the way we do Single Ladies a decade later.

I honestly blame her because this rollout has been ****. She did jack all to promote the era. She could've EASILY gotten 2/3 #1s its so infuriating thinking about how things could've gone

Her target group is in their 30s/40s and they all use streaming

this is not the 90s where 30 year olds use CDs

tbh that's the crowd's fault, not Beyoncé's. What should she have done to get people knowing the lyrics? She gave them a few weeks before she even started performing the songs, and why are they at a Beyoncé/Jay-Z concert and they haven't even listened to their new album enough to know key lyrics?

People know Lemonade songs on the FWT just days after its release, and the album wasn't even on Spotify.

And I know ppl gone look at this as selfish, but it’s so frustrating to know something as beautiful as Runnin’ exists, but have it be like non-existent in the biggest (her) music market.

 

Thank goodness Naughty Dog did what he needed to do in the UK. But the erasure is REAL. It’s easy for anti-charthive to disregard the GeePee not knowing anything off of EIL, The Gift, or Renaissance. But I want them to imagine playing CIL to a room of confused faces… that’s how I feel.  

I don't Stan Beyoncé but I really do respect her work ethic, drive and talent. I also completely wrote her off during 4 for ST to drop and change my mind about her, Lemonade was also one of my favorite Eras to witness and Ren has grown on me so much I really do hope she does drop the visuals sometime soon but I also am kind of hyped for Acts 2 & 3.

Was actually at a house party a couple weekends ago that was hosted by a rich swinger couple, and while we were doing c*ke in their mansion at 3 am, we were passing around the smart TV remote and putting on music videos.
 

When I put on Partition, the hostess was like omg, I’ve never seen this music video before. And if y’all remember, Self-Titled was of course not promoted after XO, DIL. But it’s like why does Bey have to do this?? Deprive the world of her greatness? Of course the hostess (who is bisexual) loved it. Especially when I explained the concept was a threesome with Jay and a maid. Yes, I enjoy seeing ppls faces light up when I introduce them to something Bey related that is new to them, but also would be nice for it to be as ubiquitous as SL or Irreplaceable.
