Jon Chu said Wicked will take "years" to be released due to editing and post production. I think we can expect the next album after filming is over, so maybe Q4 this year.

When do you think filming will begin? I know it was said to be this summer but they haven’t even gone into rehearsals apparently.

 

I’d rather a Q4 lead & Q1 album, gives her more time to work on the album & will probably be more successful

Rehearsals start on July, so they film around August-November I’m assuming
Agree on the rest, she doesn’t need to do much for the lead to be a hit, she would have more time to work on the album, and releasing on Q1 is always a good idea because there’s never competition around that time 

A rollout like TUN basically, but without abandoning the era after the album’s release

Yeah January is a very dead time of year but if you’re as big as Ariana it benefits you instead 

 

 

So glad she’s just using Instagram and promoting the trans youth initiatives on her stories.
 

I feel like she would’ve popped off a while ago if this was 2016-17 Ariana but I’m glad she’s taken steps to protect and control her platform.

I hope they won't push filming back, I don't want Wicked to drag until 2025 or something 

 

I'd love a summer roll out, but considering the timing I think Q1 is the best scenario.

Didn't the director just say it will take years for the movie to come out? I doubt it's coming out before 2024/2025 then.

I don't recall that. I remember reading that it will be ready after filming fairly early because this project has been in production and development stages for years now due to the delays and were just waiting for the greenlight, so they're basically "ready to go".
