not like that :gaycat6: i meant xmas wave is ruining shit ton of chart runs

i agree. it's always been like that. i remember it ever since Before He Cheats when it was a lot milder (mostly on radio) but now it's just ridiculous

I do like how the xmas freeze ends a few song that over stay their time. New blood will fly up in twoish weeks

When will Xmas songs be banned from charting on the main chart?

It just ruins everything:rip:

Hopefully Billboard comes with some new rules

Why would they do that when the charts' main point for existing are to reflect the most popular music at a given time?

EOM smashing left and right:clap3: not as iconic as Hello (it's kinda impossible) but a smash anyway

In that case why they have a recurrent chart then?:rip:

I think they need at least to add some rules to make it more difficult for Xmas songs to chart high.  They ruin the charts no matter what and it's getting worse every year

Because it doesn't make sense to allow them to chart but have a recurrent rule.

E.g. Levitating will be forced into recurrency from dropping due to christmas songs - however, those songs will all drop off the Hot 100 the first week of 2022. But Levitating won't just magically jump back on the Hot 100. Either they adjust their recurrency rules or stop allowing Christmas songs to chart after their release year.

I love aiwfciy but Adele better block her and reduce it’s run at #1. I hope it only hits #1 the week before Christmas and then die off. Christmas music taking over the charts was exciting 4-5 years ago but now it’s just a nightmare

The way ATRL kept preaching and saying that EOM was going to be frontloaded because nO rePlaY vALuE only for it to end up slaying at #1 for 7 weeks (even if Mariah ends up getting it this week, 6 weeks is still insane).

All of Adele's #1s are HITS :clap3:

NNN, this is a great (relatively subtle) drag :clap3:

Slay, Adele. Your second fanbase can't stand it!

Not everyone can have hits that STICK

The fact eom will have more weeks at #1 than Taylor’s last 5 #1s combined but Adele is on a decline lol

Why does thread title say "EARLY" when tweet says final pls.

OT: Amazing longevity for EOM thanks to radio. Happy to see Adele can find success in transitioning to a singles artist :clap3:

A singles AND album artist, not everyone has that :clap3:
