I know this question is a bit ridiculous but what about the comments like "The sissy jumped out" or calling other gay people "hunty/hunties"?

 

Since most of ATRL members are gay and i know that it's miles better than f word, but i guess it depends on the context itself?

Intra-community terms of endearment aren’t what we would consider in violation with the ZTP in most cases. I’m sure someone can be creative and find a way to pull it off, but that’s not the focus of the revised ZTP and should be fine.

Interesting. I wonder if this has anything to do with JKR? Would her statements be permaban worthy? Or is 2nd wave feminist discourse not allowed? I also think it’s interesting that misogyny isn’t mentioned once in the OP yet ‘transphobia’ is. It’s all starting to make sense now. What a shame.

Talks amongst staff advocating for a revised ZTP have been in the works well before the announcement of the new cohort of moderators in May. 

 

With regard to JKR, discussing the fact that she spoke about it is fine. Dismissing the identities and experiences of trans people in the same vein as her is not excusable though. ATRL needs to be a welcoming community to our trans members and gaslighting them over their identities isn’t good conversation, it’s harmful.

 

Similarly, we wouldn’t welcome any thread or point of conversation condemning gay people for “choosing to be gay.”

No what I meant is, is expressing the same views as what JKR did in her viral essay is supposed to be against this zero tolerance policy? 
I just hope a forum run by men is not in support of gaslighting our female members also, because judging by the OP there is no consideration for that.

Yes, a cisgender woman denying the reality of transgender women is abject transphobia and is in violation of the ZTP.

This is great news, and I commend ATRL/the mods for taking these steps. ATRL should never be an outlet for hate speech.

I’d suspect that, “You’ll die soon enough, fatty” could warrant an abrasive WP due to the “you’ll die” part. But no conversation had amongst mods when discussing the revised ZTP leads me to believe that using “fat” or “fatty” as a term of endearment would present an issue.

 

So, no, these are not in violation of the ZTP as far as I’m aware/concerned.

The ZTP clearly specifies that bigoted comments targeted towards gender (which includes cisgender women) is also not excusable. If you think defending transwomen is somehow misogyny against cisgender women, then I'm not sure how to help you. Cisgender women can employ misogyny against other cisgender women and often engage in transphobic misogyny against transwomen.

 

The fact that the ZTP does not permit describing transwomen as "still men" does not mean that we are excusing other forms of misogyny. If you have questions, feel free to ask and I'll try to clarify if you want to actually provide an example of misogyny that you think this ZTP does not cover.

Is dragging the "white gays" still allowed?

This too people have been way too comfortable throwing the f word around (mostly in a negative way). I think calling someone a bottom as a way to shame them should be warnable too.

Of course there are people playing dumb, asking "wHaTaBouTdiSndAt!!!???," talking about their freedom of speech, and trying to imply that "defending trans women = being against cis-women."
