You rationalised exactly what I was thinking. Pop That Trunk and Private Show showcase them perfectly as something fresh in the current pop landscape - bold, authentic and reminiscent of the past without being too try hard. CHARISMA. Just expansive, almost genre less fun music. Would love an album of it, perhaps in an Outkast half/half style.

Private Show is a smash hit. The second half of this album is massive. Agree that I'd like more weirdness from them - they can go bigger

Ariana's audience numbers are really good. I think this is going to be a strong era for her on radio, and the potential saving grace for the next single.

Found it interesting that the cameras would avoid Cruz. Also felt majority lipped? But not a bad start at all. End of Beginning is where their sound should go.

Same for Drake's being impressive that a slow 5 min album track could go #1 on Spotify Global.

Would say Drake since he's the only one nuking his success (no cds/vinyl for his own albums since 2018, refusing to tour stadiums, and not submitting to the Grammys in years) despite having clear demand for both, yet still appearing at the top of ranks.
