It's not charting at the moment because this was the week it was due to be on ACR so it appears that way for the midweeks but will be reset in the final official chart as it's gained above the thresho

  • Popboi.
    Popboi.

petal could sell 0 copies the rest of the week and still go #1, so there's that at least

    tomaseba

    UK can Dai Dai

Literally how is Rein Me In still number 1? skull I don't keep up with the UK charts and the rules here much anymore but I'm confused as to how it hasn't been swallowed up by ACR?

sometimes things just beat the system, people keep playing the bloody thing lmao

It has insane replay value, that's all there is to its longevity. But at the same time I wonder why people outside the UK and Australia didn't quite catch on with it.

Streaming figures get added over the week, I don't think Sam will enough streams to block Ariana

Songs have to drop in sales/streams for 3 consecutive weeks for ACR to kick in after the 10th week of charting. I guess the streams have been stable

First midweek is pure sales heavy, so that explains Dai Dai and RMI being above petal

I hope that htimylm ends up above stay, it's having such a good chart run for it to get cut so abruptly by an album track

I think the 3 tracks per artists rule is good and keeps the chart fresh but they should really expand it to at least 5 tracks

It should have went recurrent the week of Olivia's album release, when it dropped from 2-4. In what world does that classify as an increase?

I've been to 12 weddings this year so far, and it was the first dance song for 5 of them.

Enough please

So Ariana won't be #1 in the UK and Sam Fender could have waited one more week to get his dusty record and let Shakira get her #1. Ugh rip

I always try to give it a chance to see the appeal but always forgot how it sounds like. ๐Ÿ˜…

You know full well that the streams increased, which affects ACR. The chart position is irrelevant.

Ugh.

Rein Me In is back to #1 on spotify and increasing in streams so it's not going to be affected by ACR in 3 more weeks. It will be #1 for 22 weeks at least mazen

And Ariana will be blocked. Petal is down to #3

The fact that position isn't taken into consideration shows how inefficient the ACR rules are. I thought the whole point of these rules was to move older songs off the chart faster.

It's pretty clear that the rules as currently constructed aren't working. I'd say add to the rule the song must maintain its position in order to be eligible for a reset, and make the criteria for ACR 2 declining weeks instead of 3.

It's pretty clear that Sam's team knows the rules and are gaming/exploiting them. It's time to toughen up the rules to make it harder to skirt ACR.

The whole purpose of ACR is reduce older songs from sitting in the top 10 if they are consistently decreasing in consumption. "Rein Me In" wasn't decreasing, its streams were consistent. Which is why the chart position was irrelevant.

Songs can increase in consumption metrics but still fall or stay stable on a chart, because others increase more around them. That's why your idea would never work.

Samlivia #1 this week for sure. The streams have been increasing again* possibly due to the press reporting about the record being broken.

*That most likely means at least 3 more weeks at #1.

could have a few more weeks . i am surprised this has not done better in the US . if it got a big label push with promo it could do something.

Ariana getting that #1 album.
