JoJo - The High Road 20 Years Unplugged Tour
Yeah, I'm wondering why the apparent snub since her show at The Wiltern was sold out (as far as I remember when I got tickets last year), but I'm guessing that if the dates she has sell well, she'll extend some dates. If not, I might actually want to go to NYC for this, just wish it were on a weekend!

Macklemore dropped from Ed Sheeran tour post-Free Palestine speech
Rap is fundamentally very political, and Macklemore himself has always been outspokenly very political. He's been performing Hind's Hall non-stop the last couple of years and always talks about Palestine, among other social issues. This makes Macklemore look honest and transparent, while simply stating what factually happened so that the media can't twist things. It's not on him to protect anyone but himself with that statement, much like you could say it's not on Ed to defend Macklemore. If Ed and his team were so opposed to this, they should have gone over this prior to the tour starting, and they definitely knew going in because things like setlists + visuals are rehearsed prior to shows, so it's not like Ed's team were in the dark about Hind's Hall and the Palestine flag being displayed. So, oh ******* well, how corny to defend powerful apolitical people that feel uncomfortable about getting political, especially those in the arts.

Macklemore dropped from Ed Sheeran tour post-Free Palestine speech
From the Rolling Stone article: "Pointedly, Ye's promoter included a clause in his contract prohibiting Raymond James Stadium from canceling the gigs based on the rapper's past public statements or viewpoints. But legal experts also told local news that canceling the shows would've likely violated the First Amendment. Because Raymond James is owned by Hillsborough County, Florida, and operated by a public board, the Tampa Sports Authority, any cancellation based on Ye's past statements could have been seen as the government restricting speech." Is this grounds for a lawsuit from Macklemore's team as well?

This is actually only going to make things worse for zionists. Public opinion is absolutely going to be on Macklemore's side.

Manchild aging like wine, why?
Very true, I'm just now getting into it as well as some of the other tracks. I love her, but when the album initially released, I just don't think I was in the mood for this sound. I think it'll age better than how people on here thought it would.

P!nk breaks silence: condemns Hamas, supports Palestinians, drags Macklemore
What a complete dipshit. That group in the US really think they're some oppressed people here. Meanwhile brown and black people here in the same "flawed" country she describes are being rounded up and taken to concentration camps or murdered by police in the big 2026. Our money is being used to fund wars and genocides. She wants to wash her hands of her outburst by hiding behind queer people and that mention of working with UNICEF. But I'm glad she's shown how she has a long way to go to understand oppression and fear because these people only seem to have it for themselves when it concerns them and when it looks like people like them.

Taylor introduced Travis to controversial Israeli restaurant
The political intention doesn't matter when the effect is that they are financially supporting an establishment that is vocal about their pro-zionist beliefs. Intentions don't absolve you from being held accountable for financially supporting these kinds of places. And that goes for all of us when navigating our daily unethical infrastractures. I don't mean to make a political statement when I go buy my toothpaste, but I also don't get to say "my intention isn't to hurt people or be political about my purchases" when I shop at places like Target, Walmart, or Amazon - the outcome is still the same and I can't negate that I am benefiting institutions that financially uphold fascism in politics by purchasing from them. It's a great thing that Travis and Taylor can be called out on this and hopefully feel like they should actually take action against it due to vocal outcry. One of the easiest things to do in any big city in the US is to simply go buy shawarma or hummus from your local Lebanese establishment.

Taylor introduced Travis to controversial Israeli restaurant
Everything in life is political, from the price that you pay at restaurants, the cultural origins of said food you're eating, to the mode of transportation you are able to even get to said restaurant. All of these things that you get to "enjoy" are decided by the people in politics. If you don't have the skills to question the world around you, that's on you, but just because you lack the skills to make those discernments does not make something dumb.

Ed Sheeran urged to drop Macklemore from tour, Pink shares post demanding apology
Christina performed in Israel as recently as August 2023, but I'm not sure whether that's reason enough to say she's explicitly pro-zionist in the same vein as people like Pink. People on her team should have known better than to allow her to perform there, but they evidently followed the money. There's absolutely no excusing that, especially anyone that willingly performs there post-October 2023.

Pussycat Dolls - PCD Forever World Tour | UK, Europe & Brazil
Ashley should've performed Played for her solo set. Overall, the setlist is what I imagined it to be, although I definitely would've enjoyed a medley or something of non-singles, even a little throwback to Sway would've been nice. I'm just glad WTAT made it to the final cut!

They really just don't pop with only 3 members. These clips pale in comparison to what their 2019 performances were like when it was 5 of them.

More successful career — Daniel Radcliffe or Robert Pattinson?
I think they've both been able to carve out their own lanes in the ways they've wanted to over time, which is great considering not many actors can say that in the long run. Daniel feels more iconic just because of Harry Potter, but Robert's work has achieved much more mainstream popularity over a decade outside of Twilight and I would argue people across multiple generations don't see him as just Edward Cullen like most millenials would.

Name a popgirl whose career arc is comparable to Robert Pattinson's acting career
Gaga was critically lauded from the jump and was pretty respected as a performer even though she was also seen as "crazy". This really calls for someone that was panned from the jump and then worked their way up in respectability. I'd say someone like Kesha fits that bill much better. Adored by audiences of the genre, but ABHORRED by literally everyone else and even frequently called the death of music, much like the Twilight movies were seen as garbage, but fulfilled the needs of the intended audience. Critics started to change their tune as they became aware that Kesha could sing and was in on the joke, ultimately peaking 7 years after her debut with the Grammy nomination for Rainbow.

Paulina Rubio career revival on X, your favorite song?
Paulina fans really do live in another reality because Thalia reached far more global charts than Paulina did, and yes I have stated in almost all my posts that it's thanks to her novelas that those successes were possible. That doesn't change the fact that Paulina Rubio isn't really known outside of spanish speaking territories. Twitter posts with less than 5k likes doesn't really mean she's more clamored, especially when the reality is that Thalia had FAR more success in music in the 2010's while Paulina was left in the dust. Her touring is also abysmal, and both Thalia and Paulina's streaming and touring pale in comparison to someone like Gloria Trevi, who was never as global, but has certainly kept up in her markets in Mexico and the US.

Paulina "Sexi Dance" reaches #1 on ITunes Mexico
Not really, Sexi Dance is doing about 12,000 daily streams while Dolce Vita already has 1 million first week

Paulina "Sexi Dance" reaches #1 on ITunes Mexico
Nnn I was gonna say 500 copies, but damn. I didn't realize just how low itunes sales are. This is cute though, but yeah, the streaming numbers for this haven't really increased either, so this is viral for maybe a couple hundred Mexican twitter gays. Which is a shame because she deserves a bit of a comeback.
