Welcome to the gif request thread! Here you'll be able to ask the community for help in creating anything from reaction gifs to avatars. 

 

Given the confusion that often results from ambiguously worded requests, I've decided to (finally) implement a standard set of guidelines to make the process go as smoothly as possible. These guidelines are inspired by the former gif/avatar request threads on OLDTRL and aim to lessen the burden on those that participate here, as well as taking the forum's limitations into account. Not everyone will be happy with them, as in the past, but they need to be followed to the T. Before you post here or whenever you're confused about how to word a request, I ask that you review the following section. 

 

GENERAL GUIDELINES:

 

You should not: 

 

-Request avatars that are longer than 20 seconds (normal gifs which don't have to conform to the upload limit are excluded from this rule, but I would still advise that you keep your requests around that limit). This includes avatars that are made up of multiple parts. 20 seconds is a rough estimate and may not always work, I would recommend no longer than 15 seconds but every video is different and this will be on a case by case basis. 

 

-Request any gif that includes more than 5 separate parts put together.

 

-Request more than 2 avatars or 4 normal gifs per week (resizing pre-existing gifs or still images will be excluded from this rule).

 

-Make a request for a gif that you are not 100% sure you will use. Do not waste people's time. When you make your request, if you plan to use it off-site, let us know. If you ignore this and we don't see you using the gifs that are made for you, any future requests may be ignored.

 

You should:

 

-Include a timestamp and, if the scenes aren't clear cut, specify exactly where you want the gif to begin and end. Any requests that simply ask for a random gif from a video will be ignored. We aren't mind readers!

 

-Specify what type of gif you want:

 

ATRL avatars

normal gifs 

gifs for off-site use (last.fm, etc.)

 

Make sure to include if you would like your gif cropped or sped up/slowed down in any particular way. 

 

-If you would like the gif to be a certain size (ex. 200x200, 150x150, etc.), you'll include that. If you don't care, the size will be whatever fits the upload limit.

 

-Leave a quote or reaction to let us know that you acknowledge the finished request.

I forgot who the amazing member was that made me the "Funhouse" music video avi but if you're reading this and still have it, please send it because I didn't save it

 

Otherwise, someone or you please make me an avi from 0:49-0:54 (from when she is standing with both arms up to both thumbs up), 1:00-1:04 (from when she grabs the drink to drops it and makes the disgusted expression), and 1:22-1:28 (from the closer camera angle to just before it cuts away again):
