I'm in Europe so this artist and her song are not a thing here, I only hear about her on ATRL and how big this song is in the USA. To me she's like a watered down Kacey Musgraves. Not that Kacey is some type of provocateur cutting edge artist, but she's got a critical perspective to her and this Ella is the watered down version of her to me, especially aesthetics wise.

So yeah. But maybe I'll get into her, who knows. Wouldn't be the first time I write off an artist only to become a fan later on, even with Taylor it took me until 2009/10 to REALLY get it!

I'm an Ella Fella! I don't deny it! I saw her in Tuscaloosa, AL 3 months ago at bryant denny stadium. That's when she & Morgan 1st debuted I Can't Love You Anymore. I wore a LSU tshirt, since it was baseball season. This royally pissed off my best friend/little brother (who I met at LSU ironically) who seemed sure I would get us in a fight. No I didn't get us in any fights lol.

I would love to see Ella in Auburn, but those tickets are out of sight price wise. She's alum there & a huge fan (see my avatar) so it's a "homecoming" experience for her. It might even be Homecoming weekend at Auburn. I'll have to check cause I might go to the game.

And I loved Shania Twain (& Faith Hill) back in the day. My Active Rock changeover was 2-4 years away yet. I went to Twain's concert here in Birmingham, AL back in November 1998 & even got to meet her at a meet & greet at Parisian, a high end clothing store that has now closed. I got her autograph & had a friend grab a photo who was a bit behind us. Given I had begun following the Toronto Maple Leafs just > 1 year prior to that I wore my Maple Leafs hat to the event hoping she'd notice it. But unfortunately she didn't.

I'm not from the USA (thank God) but it seems to me, from what I've been reading here, not having ever heard any of her songs but knowing the public she caters to, that she's propaganda disguised as art.

Just like the racist podcaster, the incel drug addict with multiple surgeries, the human trafficking "influencers" have ties to certain people in power and certain super specific messages about "tradition" and nationalism. Just saying.

Maybe I'm just too cynical and too good at recognizing patterns in culture.
