Rooting for Ossoff

The Democratic nominee is still very up in the air. It could be an outsider, just look at how Barack Obama wasn't very well-known at first but ended up becoming President.

I think the Republican nominee will boil down to either JD Vance or Marco Rubio.

2016 set the tone for an entire decade of US politics... I think this election will be the same. Rooting for the only truly progressive candidates on this list, AOC and Ro Khanna!

I don't know yet but thank god trump is over (as a president). He's been terrorizing the world since 2016. Imagine how tired we are!

The gop will elect either Vance or Rubio.

The dems primaries are gonna be bloodbath.

Who I want to be the Dem nominee, who should be the Dem nominee, and who will be the Dem nominee are three very different things.

If Marco Rubio is the GOP nominee it will be in large part thanks to Vance's attempts to distance himself from Iran. Whether Marco wins will come down to whether he decides to follow through on invading Cuba, how and when their Iran debacle is solved, and the GOP's success in convincing working-class Latino men that Stephen Miller's ethnonationalist project and #KavanaughStops never happened.

The reason the Democrat will lose in 2028 is the party base is deeply divided and it's egocentric liberals will be aiming for a mythical middle that no longer exists after they divide the party in their efforts to get the nomination.

• Mark Kelly and Chris Murphy have no personality

• White working-class men in the Upper Midwest won't accept economic advancement pitches from a young Latina (AOC) even though they'll lie to pollsters that they will

• Rahm, Gavin and Josh are sociopaths with endless skeletons in their closets that will take out Kamala with racial and sexist jabs (starting with Willie Brown retreads) before taking out each other, decimating enthusiasm with the base

• Gretchen has already said she's not running

• Late-entry Ossoff or Moore runs are the only chance for a Dem win (after Rahm, Gavin, Kamala and Josh take each other out in a metaphorical circular firing squad) and only after they motivate enough base turn-out by lying about their voting records while suppressing enough moderate backlash

Well, if he looks to his close friends Putin and Erdoğan as examples, I think he may be planning to find a way around that law, just as they did. Welcome to fascism.

Kamala will likely make it through the primary due to the loyalty of her voter base. None of the other candidates have that on a national level, and are really only local darlings (Beshear, Shapiro) that lack broad appeal at best, or they are utterly despised (Gavin Newsom, for good reason) at worst. But she'll be damaged goods from already being a loser and from being battered by her competitors as a result.

Republicans will be leaning towards Marco Rubio, and it's uncertain that JD Vance even runs at this point, given the lack of confidence that Trump has already expressed in him.

As for who wins the election, I believe the Republicans will be favored not because they promise to do anything better, but the Democrats will simply lose due to being weak and lacking in any sort of compelling message. Which is why they lost with Hillary and Kamala, and why Joe only barely got through in 2020 while campaigning from his basement as Trump destroyed the country with his COVID failures.
