Love In Real Life & Still Bad were steps in the right direction for her in my opinion but this album will have DMMLY so idk... as long as some of the new songs have that same feel i guess

I actually liked DMMLU and thought the title track of this sounded fun when I saw her at WeHo Pride last year. And I thought the mixtape last year was mostly good.

She's tricky because half the time I feel like the hate she gets is disproportionate to the actual quality of the music/the nature of the controversy and I also think stan oriented spaces like ATRL/Twitter are just essentially coded to actively hate fat people and be harder on black women. But also I can't deny that her online persona especially after the scandal is doing her no favors and she's often incredibly grating.

It's a real shame because her early days of the Lizzobangers/Big GRRRL Small World/Coconut Oil eps/mixtapes was super promising and even when she went more commercial with CILY and parts of Special there were still some genuine gems. She's definitely talented, but I actually think she might be in a spot now with all the noise online that she can't really comeback regardless of quality. Not saying she deserves to comeback, I just have complicated feelings and thoughts about her in a broad sense.

That leaked cover was a 1 million times better than that horrid mess she's releasing now.

unfortunate because the Love In Real Life album seemed promising, a lot more Prince influenced which is what I think she should be leaning into. hopefully some of that will end up on this
