Madonna has said she is not good with picking singles (I mean this is the woman that created Vogue to be used as a throwaway B side until her record company heard it, and THANK GOD said HOLD UP!!!! This is too good for a B side and needs to be a stand alone single!!!")

But since leaving Warner we've had GMAYL, Living for Love (good song but not great) and Medellin, when there are FAR better tracks to have been lead single material. She especially dropped the ball with GMAYL.

I listened to Perfect Illusion yesterday after years and the vocals are still intolerable. I'd listen to 15 Accelerate's or even 15 Stupid Song's over one PI.

Medellin is so awful I'm surprised nobody has mentioned it in the thread

Woman's World. It did way more damage to Katy than Me! did to Taylor or Perfect Illusion & Stupid Love did to Gaga.

It pretty much cemented the death of Katy's career as a mainstream popstar. The Dr. Luke of it all definitely contributed, but the primary reason it tanked is simply the fact it's an absolutely terrible song with no redeeming qualities. It's not even bad that it's ironically good in a camp way, it's just bad.

Every single aspect of that release was embarrassingly disastrous and worst-case-scenario. It will be studied in PR and marketing classes in the future as the epitome of what NOT to do when trying to make a mainstream comeback.
