What's your iPod Music?

Featured Replies

Some call it Indie Sleaze, some call it Bloghouse, some call it iPod Music.

Before Slayyyter announced her next album is WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA, there were rumours it would be called iPod Music.

I love the overall vibe she's going for so far this era and was thinking about what the references are and I need more - be it of that era or newer stuff that's inspired by it.

What went platinum on your iPod?

I've never gotten over these classics.

matter of fact , the whole album had my iPod on life support jonnybut this one specifically i remember playing on repeat on my iPod Touch while logging on to build maps on my Minecraft Classic server which was paid for by the 21 year old who had been grooming me on Habbo Hotel and the Habbo fansite forum that he owned then he hacked my facebook when i wouldnt send him underage nudes of myself . it was a pretty popular server too it would reach 32 players but when me and the guy fell out he sold it to make me upset ( it worked )

These songs/artists were also on slayyyter's moodboard (and she often features them on her playlists). I myself have only narrowly missed the iPod indie slease era but I really like seeing it making a comeback

sdfsdfsdjsd ... I still use an mp3 player.

But for real:

These really are the classics!

I've seen a few of these on her playlists.

My GOD, the immaculate taste. Little Boots is the artist I will spend my money on, I have almost all of her albums on vinyl. clap

iPod music is a good concept. Just last night, I was shopping for mp3 players with bluetooth connectivity. I'm dumping my smartphone this year

Omg this is giving major time capsule vibes. Makes me so nostalgic.

Reloaded really needs to be released eventually.

The first Little Boots album really is so iPod-coded. I think Nocturnes (+ Headphones because it's of that era) is her best album though.

Even though in collaboration with D*plo, this compilation has some gems.

Your mix of artists triggered this memory

Heidi's 2025 version just doesn't hold up without those RedOne synths.

But yeah your choices are a collapse!!

Tbh I don't really get what iPod Music means? Like late 2000's early 2010's music?

this is gonna be quite guy heavy i think (tbf the guys used to be pretty good at this?)

can't believe he managed to find the words to describe this girl without being disrespectful

glam era goldfrapp is kinda indie sleaze i think?

this feels not quite right but also i'm hard pushed to think it isn't the same sort of thing

EDIT: nearly forgot early calvin!

it is but it's a style as well, sort of like guitar indie/disco crossover

Essentially, yes.

More specifically, it's a vibe. Because with iPods you maybe weren't uploading full albums but cherry picking your faves. So it's more of a mix and match of mainstream artists and more obscure artists, as well some file sharing, YouTube rips (that's why people here are posting Gaga leaks/demos), and mixtapes.

Yeah guys were more fun then for sure. Early Calvin was great!

I'd say early Goldfrapp (but kinda whenever tbh) fits for sure.

These picks are so good!!

Evermore my entire iPod days were basically that band and Rihanna, Pussycat Dolls, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, coheed & cambria, panic! At the disco.

I still have my iPod classic around and I remember scrolling through it once dies

I can't remember if it was just one or both of these mixtapes, but I remember splitting the songs up into individual files. Oh Charli…you've come so far!!
