I think they're honestly just over BLACKPINK as a whole, but they don't want to disappoint fans so they'll never really "break up". They're all having major solo breakout success and honestly their solo music is much better plus I'm sure they enjoy having full control of their careers as opposed to being tossed demos from a label. It also seems like they'll probably start going on solo tours soon as their own discography increases. Plus for Rose (especially if she wins some grammys) & Lisa having so much mainstream success in the western world I'm sure they don't want to be held back by YG.

they'll come back together once they find out their solo tour isn't as profitable as touring as a group

you are right. yg announced the album earlier because they want a longer pre-order period but i still wish that yg can give us something instead of doing nothing. i guess i'll never learn

touring after touring and contract negotiating. they are so done with group activities and just want to grab some quick money before incoming hiatus

I think they only renewed their contract in case their solo careers didn't take off. Since they did, this seems to be their final release as a group that might be happening only cuz it was in the contract

I'd imagine that they rushed out Deadline as a mini album and reserve some songs for a release that coincide with their 10th anniversary.

Could be Deadline (Deluxe) or a full album? Not sure. Maybe too hopeful for more music BUT i feel that this 10th anniversary release is gonna be their last album

they've never released more than one album in a year before. and i doubt they'll release another album this year since they all have so many solo activities lined up this year

I feel like if they had actually been allowed to be "artists" under Blackpink/YG, they'd have just continued as a group.

JYP works TWICE to the BONE, but they get so many opportunities to release music. Solo mini albums (which have so many tracks) and plenty of group albums including full Japanese albums that aren't just re-recorded versions of their Korean hits from a year back. I say this as a general k-pop fan, so idk if there's anything problematic there. JYP seems to fully support their artists.

YG props BP up for all sorts of sponsorships and brand deals. It got so past "the music" so quickly. More albums, more solos within the company, it could have been so great. Rosé has always been my bias in the group, and YG always paid her dust. She had my favorite solos, a unique voice.

As a fan who wanted to go to the concert, I assumed that the full album was dropping during their tour. I missed out on tickets for sure because it would have been a great show, but wtf a full world tour on one new song.

You gotta understand that K-Pop releases are not like western album campaigns. Usually companies choose to release mini albums cause full albums are more expensive and this way they get to have multiple comebacks (releases) a year. Album tracks are basically useless in K-Pop everyone only focuses on the title and after 2/3 weeks of promotions the era is dead and they are moving on to the next one.
