I just don't get it. Considering that the song is indeed just a MAYHEM leftover, why releasing something just ok when they could create and promote an amazing track instead? The song will be plastered all over the world, millions of people will watch the movie. That's huge promo + spotlight that deserves a surefire #1 hit.

I can answer this one. Signing a deal to get "a song" by an artist usually ends up being a bit more cheaper than paying the artist to write a song for your movie, which is in turn cheaper than paying an artist to write a song for your movie/TV show/etc which is integral to the plot or whatever.

Artists and record labels usually take a look at what they have recorded during an album session and then decide which tracks they want to just vault altogether, which ones they want to give to other artists, and which to shop around to be licenses for tv shows, movies, etc. The tracks that are picked to shop for tv shows or movies don't necessarily need to be the worst ones... sometimes they are outright smashes that are given to a movie or show for the purpose of increasing their commercial reach, as the artist or label won't have a big promotion budget.

These songs being shopped around is sometimes how the actual unreleased tracks leak, too. To put an example, Taylor did this with All Of The Girls and Need during the Lover era, which were meant to be attached to two different films. And if Shape of a Woman ends up being Sunfloor, I suspect that the song leaked around the time Fox was looking to get the collaborations in place for TDWP2.

Sometimes it also happens that an artist is asked to write a song for a movie, and in those recording sessions, they actually write a track that they want to keep for themselves. Then depending on how the deal for those recording sessions was put in place, they need to negotiate if they pay back the cost of the recording, production, etc to the studio and keep the track, or if they just cannot do it and need to work around the fact and negotiate a possible inclusion in their album labeled like "(From the X Movie Soundtrack)".

idk about y'all but I really love her cameo scene. They gave me many angles of that Versace haute couture dress which I hadn't seen much at the Grammys. She didn't have a red carpet photo look either and she was sad. At that time, I concentrated on her emotions that night more than taking the time to admire the dress itself.

The dress and her movements are really cvnty, flawless when they did a 180° shoot, I love it and can't wait to see the movie for her cameo and of course, I love this film too. Tee-hee.

I hope everyone will be gagged by it 🥹🥹🥹

Yesterday was fun, but can we all agree that we were exaggerating our reactions to SOAW for entertainment purposes? The song doesn't seem that bad

Not me, I instantly loved the hook. It just needs mastering with how the demo sounded. What I don't like is the leak having a vocal watermark of Burem which still sounded as "Burn with scoops of bacon" for me.

It took me a while to realize he was saying, "Burim Exclusive Baby" and Burim is the name of that infamous leaker

The SOAW leak just blasted through my For You Page against my will just now and since I am late to the party, I will follow the herd mentality and think that it is underwhelming. Need to hear the rest LEGALLY and not some low quality stuff.

I wasn't in the stan world in 2009. So, my first experience of BR was watching the MV on the premiere day, and I spontaneously combusted in front of my computer screen. '(

You would have probably exploded because the video got postponed by 24 hours like 5 minutes before it was supposed to premiere on YouTube. Imagine how the base in here nowadays would look like, if she did that.

Everyone saying "how can you judge a song based on a 20 second snippet!1!1!!" are lowkey gaslighters. We have most of the chorus which should be a pretty solid indicator of the vibe, and we also have a bit of the verse and pre-chorus from the "little fun, little fun, woah-oh-oh" leak from last year. Imagine putting those two together and how they might flow, and then you're just missing the bridge, assuming it follows a traditional structure. Why is this difficult for some of you? suburban

I also never see anyone post "how can you judge based on a snippet" when most of the fanbase actually LIKES the snippet, so it sounds like you're coping.

I can usually tell whether or not I'll like a song based on the snippet with a 90% success rate because I have ears. Or maybe I'm just better than all of you, I don't know
