The way literally any Chrome track other than Stupid Love would have gotten her a solo #1 in the 2020s instead of releasing a leaked shite song for a lead single

The reason is that getting a 1B+ by releasing a song now means a lower threshold for how big it has to be. For a song released before the streaming era to reach 1B means it stood the test of time, so its recurrent streams are going to be more impressive.

Obviously Rain On Me isn't bigger than Paparazzi/Alejandro even though those have less total streams, but that's entirely because of the period of time it was released in.
