It feels like the creative process of Mayhem led to Gaga being where she is now, so she's creating from that place, rather than striving for it. Which is why I'm so confident in it. Pre-Mayhem was scary because it was after years of her being iffy about her pop music career. This is the most passionate she's been since TFM-BTW days.

Not to jinx it, but doesn't it feel like Gaga is like twice as big as she was now vs. Pre-Mayhem era? I'm very curious to how her next era will do in terms of first day/week numbers.

I hope Gaga releases whenever she wants, since we've now seen a difference between when she's "forced" to put out music and when she wants to put out music and can take the time to fully plan a vision for the era. She knew exactly how she wanted this album to play out, both visually/promotion wise/musically. When she's making it up as she goes, it's clear she gets kinda messy and distracted (or worse, disengaged) — It's not a knock on her, we all work differently, but gotta play to her strengths rather than going by something else.

She was coming off of JBOMB and Disease when she launched Abra and Mayhem. I don't think it's out there to think her next debut might be bigger than Mayhem's.

Mayhem solidified her as a legend. Even if her current hype doesn't translate into bigger commercial success, the only thing she can really be dragged for now is her literal creative output and I have no worries there knowing how locked in she is now.

That's the quote. It was in 2012, there was video footage of it but I couldn't find it with a quick search. Then Vincent Herbert was asked about it on a radio show and they politely said Gaga couldn't fit it into her schedule.
