With the blizzard of music announcements, I'm so glad MAYSUS era was mainly last year. She basically had the entire year to herself from a pop girl side until the fall/LOASG.

Now all the others can battle it out while we just bop to a few soundtrack songs and chill.

Unless Godga or someone familiar with the writing process says it was written for Mayhem, it was not written for Mayhem

Not every song written pre-Mayhem was necessarilly written for Mayhem. DWAS is a good example in that it was written for Harlequin and then ended up on Mayhem. For all we know, Sunroof was just a general project that got turned into SOAW.

I don't think we'll actually know which of the Prada songs are eligible/not eligible until they start campaigning for awards season.

Gaga vs Taylor for BOS at the Oscars?

I just listened to the three songs together now.

1) Gorgeous Life is beautiful and haunting. I don't think it's as great as her A Star is Born ballads, though.

2) Shape of a Woman is fun, summery, radio-friendly, and easy to sing to. The production is stunning throughout.

3) RUNWAY is a song.

It's not that they were "for" Joanne or Chromatica, but they were definitely part of those same recording sessions and so in a sense they are connected to those eras even if they're not from them. I think the same logic applies here.

Plus, it seems Gaga herself connects this to MAYHEM because she teased it at the end of the MAYHEM era retrospective on her site a few weeks ago.

You guys worry too much. There isn't even a high chance that any of these songs receive an oscar nomination, and even if they did the chances of winning are super miniscule. There is literally nothing to stress over.
