I've been thinking that too, she's going to so many concerts and making herself more VISIBLE than normal, that's interesting

I love Fatima, but have always been mad at her for this lol.

In reality, I literally get it and may even agree with a bit of it, but I come from the school of more is more.

Granted, we know Bey had some ish going on with her leg; there is a magic that makes Bey who she is.

I'm all for dialing back to preserve her long-term ability, but diluting too much takes away from Beyonce being "Beyonce".

RWT found its stride and was amazing by its climax, but we're in collective agreement that something felt different (in general and with her) and took time to get into. CCT (which Fatima's team did not do, btw) felt like the ever-so-slight incline of this same Fatima ethos (even in her absence).

I agree the rigors of performing all-out (and the pressure to keep up with that standard) are what have left us without MJ, Prince, Whitney, and more. But, the reality is, if MJ were still with us, the expectation would be for him to dance down, Moonwalk, and be MJ with understood acceptance of him scaling back a lil with age. With some artists, like MJ, Bey, and similar, it just is what it is.

I can make peace with Bey pulling back a lil, but on two conditions: 1) she continues to GO FOR IT in her visuals. There are no excuses when having the benefit of cuts and edits. 2) On stage, there needs to be a better dispersal between her laid-back and all-out moments. There will continue to be no excuse for her doing so little during key UPTEMPO songs (like BMS, Cuff It, Bodyguard). I'd prefer she shorten the show for a tighter all-out experience than sitting on sofas (that Levi's Jeans setup was wild in the worst way) in order to pace out a stretched-out runtime.

No, im actually good with her preserving her body so she can go on a tour in her 60s like Janet if she wants to and isn't addicted to painkillers because she pushed her body past its limit like MJ and Prince both did.

We don't expect Michael Phelps to hop back in the pool and scoop up gold medals past his prime; we shouldn't expect our musician-atheletes to do the same.

If anything she just needs to release FWT and other things from her archive so more people and fans can see her at her physical peak.

I'm with you and we're actually on the same page.

For me, I'm more than happy with her scaling back for longevity purposes. But it's more about what she chooses to "punch in" for.

Why bother with a Thique routine (or the song at all) on CCT and make fan fave Bodyguard such a non-event? Similarly on RWT, there were songs that got more only for her to make main attractions like BMS and Cuff It so nothingy by contrast.

There no issue with her scaling back (it's actually smart), it's the how, when, and where she does it in the show that needs tweaking,

They have just announced that the adaptation of PURPLE RAIN is opening on Broadway in spring 2027... I still wonder if mother is involved in any capacity, at least as a producer.

I dont mean to sound arrogant or demeaning, but I can tell you've never professionally danced. You thinking a Michael Jackson couldve pulled off a Moonwalk and his signature dancemoves just because the public expects it at age 60 is naive to the max.

I danced semi-professionally for more than a decade and the toll professional dancing has on your joints is unthinkable to those, who have never done it. Bey has been performing in 6-inch heels for 20 years. Not only that, she has performed at the same level like her dancers. Not only does this take immense stamina, but its highly taxing. Add to that the countless hours of rehearsals that go into each performance/tour... its insanely naive to believe you'll get the same "Beyoncé"-show she pulled off at age 30 just because she rests well and takes her breaks here and there.

Bey has to pivot into a performance style that is energetic, however no that choreo heavy. It is what it is. Shes luckily got an incredible voice to fall back to, so expect her show to slowly morph into a more Tina Turner-esque show.

Love ya, but you tried it.

I don't need to be a dancer to understand the concept of showmanship, pacing, aging gracefully, and what could be tweaked.

All I'm saying, and maybe I could land it better, is: I stan dancers. Many legacy dancers at that. MJ, Janet, Bey, etc.

Janet absolutely is doing what Fatima said. She lets the spectacle happen around her. And increasingly so. But, trust and believe, when that 'If' dance break hits, she punches tf in. Even now at 60. Same with the 'All for You' choreo. if we're keeping it a buck, and every body/dancer is different, one could actually argue Janet's dance style is more intricate/full-out to Bey's mix of seductive, accessible, and equally technical. So, by that yardstick, I'm not really able to give her passes.

MJ, while not the best example given what ultimately happened. But he too adapted his style as time went on. So, while he leaned heavily into the spectacle more than the all-out choreo for every single beat (especially with what was about to be This Is It), it was a given that woud absolutely body Billie Jean every time, he'd hit the Beat It crescendo, etc.

I'm not saying Bey is doing none of that, And again, I absolutely believe she would be wise to scale back in places/pockets, but there is still a show to give and an expectation of the "Beyonce' experience. So, if that knee is healed, I frankly don't want to see her sitting down for Virgo's Groove, walking up and down for BMS, or doing the bare minimum shimmy shake (at most) for her most upbeat hit in a long while: Cuff It. Like, can we be serious?

There is a world where several things (aging gracefully, scaling back, keeping up the illusion of high energy in places, and aiming for longevity) can all exist at the same time!

I see what you mean, but there is a way to create suspense and energy without having to do heavy choreo, especially when you are as gifted as Bey. I think she needs to use lights more effectively again, fireworks/pyro, dynamics, etc..

Idk y'all I just think it's obvious that she can't dance full out like she used to. I'm not mad at it cause we're still getting high quality tours and music regardless. I just think a faction of the Hive holds her to very harsh, unfair and unrealistic standards considering everything she's been through physically in the last decade especially.

sigh

she was getting still surgery during rehearsals (we saw that on the film)

even madonna was slowing down a bit around bey's age on rwt and now poor madge confirmed she has not cartilage on her knees

i dont need her to go hard like she used to back in fwt (she was moving CRAZY back then), but half of the tour she was just standing there on stage chick1

Janet has the luxury because she can't sing and her mic is never on.

Beyoncé is actually a full blown powerhouse vocalist who also dances. Different from Janet

yeah I get that but it looks like a fan came up with the idea and asked AI to generate it. it gives more costume than custom fashion

Interesting conversation. I must say it was a little too obvious during CCT how much she was sitting down/anchored somewhere.

The horseshoe, the salon chair, the car/horse, the bull, the lips.

Then to do the hits stood on that truck the whole time 😥

The perspex stool for WDYLM still confuses me... they had a whole lift on stage just for that. Never used it again.

if anything her lipsyncing as much as she did during CCT (on top of the flagrant lack of live arrangements) is much worse than her dancing less. there's simply no reason to dance and sing less cause otherwise what's the point ? rip

i get her timing herself to have enough energy to do 3h long shows (which is kinda needed to feature entire new albums and still have time left to do your big classics, fan favorites, interludes and the occasional deep cut). but at least actually SING if you must sit down in a clown car. and the few time she does do dance breaks she better go all in, cause the awkward standing there while the dancers to the heavy lifting wnd the group hugging thing is getting awkward to see. either dance less and sing more, or cut down show time to 2 hours max, problem solved #wehateyoufatimarobinson

maybe that's why it was a backstage look. why does she need to serve high fashion for a private occasion.

sorry luv she doesn't need to do anything and that isn't my point.

my post is about how despite being a custom designer dress (literally high fashion) it is an eye sore of a design and looks AI generated. at best looks like a RuPaul's Drag Race sewing challenge gown.

Yes and no, no and yes.

Bey is s a vocal beast and has a voice that is up there as the best of today. But she also lips a lot. Almost certainly for preservation and perfectionism when it comes to showmanship, but let's also be actual and factual.
