i blame her terribly aging migos inspired mumble rap era for that. both have this mumbling, lower register, talk-singing vibe that is very off and not her to me. i thank god none of that **** is on ren and cc, not even on the more rappy songs like AHAP

It's giving chem-sex which I don't engage in as a saved and sactified queen, in the center of his will, so I skip.

Maybe one day it will hit me but Church Girl, Heated and Cozy are the bop trinity on Renny. Easily top 10 best Bey bops.

Church Girl is giving EIL and 2017 vibes. Imho the most uninspired track on Rennie, tho i do listen to it from time to time.

RWT and CCT had less lip syncing than any of her previous tours. Also how can you side eye people putting the gift into her top 3 if you haven't even listened to the project? It's not in my top 3 but you're not making any sense here..

he sees it because of tik tok accounts that analyse lip syncing on cc tour....

as you said, make it make sense.... so many of fans are ...Tique.

I actually don't like those accounts or videos, why point it out and make her a target of hate?? tsk

Personally I think I've become more aware and realistic, there's no way she goes from sounding out of breathe to the next 10 secs perfect without it being a backing track or lip synching (whatever you want to call it). Essentially her live vocals are starting to stand out more, maybe it's an age thing with endurance.

Not you choosing violence on Xmas lol.

Some of these are wild af and uncalled for lmao (especially the Gift slander), but I'll ever and always be in agreement about your opening line...

I will forever be of the take that the Hive and the world at large conflated an iconic ERA as somehow equaling an iconic ALBUM.

The Lemonade material is not musically part and parcel of Bey's core musical arsenal. Hence, why y'all can gag over her recent tours that barely feature any songs from the album sans Formation. Make it make sense lol. Let's not even get started on those remnant streams (late streaming debut or not).

Where I'll throw the Lemonade lovers a bone is that it is probably **the ERA that evoked the most FEELING. From the relationship disclosure, the political discourse, the MAGA blowback, and her deliberately going left of the rump-shaking Beyonce schtick. It was an incredible smart move at the time and one that helped position and cement has as a critics' darling.

My thing is: that doesn't automatically make the album itself a deity amongst her discography. The music on it is what ensures that and I just have never felt it holds up the way some of y'all claim it does.

Lemonade's haters are just like Beyoncé's haters. They always want to make their distaste known even when no one asks for it.

First of all, Lemonade is not overrated by the Hive, it's the album few fans like and support. Chart Hive also can't appreciate it because it doesn't have the numbers therefore they think it's automatically bad, I saw the discourses here since 2021.Funny how much the album became openly disliked and unappreciated since its streams became public.

How can it not be part of her musical arsenal when it reshaped her career and influenced her musical direction because it showed that she can master any genre. Something she espoused moving forward, that album ushered Renaissance, Cowboy Carter and the possible Rock album that is coming?

And how isn't it Bey's core musical output? What are Sorry, Formation, Freedom, 6Inch, Love Drought and All Night if not Beyoncé? Those are typical Beyoncé's songs.

This discourse is just as tired as the "you have to be in a certain mood to listen to it" discourse.

"Y'all can gag over her recent tours that barely feature any song sans Formation". What does that even mean? Did you attend the Cowboy Carter Tour? It has Freedom, Daddy Lessons and Formation. It seems you didn't know but the first two are songs from Lemonade. CCT has zero song from 4, ST and barely features any songs from her other albums sans Ren/CC. Does that make 4 and ST not good material? What is the correlation between a tour having an album and the quality of said album?

Anyway I usually just move past Lemonade's slander but I dislike how you seem hell bent on questioning the very few of us (and there are very few of us to start with) who seem to think the album is a masterpiece or her best. No one is forcing you to like it. You've been pretty vocal with your dislike just like the usual "Lemonde is bad" "Lemonade is overrated" stance we get every semester since 2019 after it hit Spotify from members who are avid of attention because they know it's a shared sentiment in the standom. It's a bit weird to invalidate people's opinions with un truths.

I see from the previous 2 pages, there's nothing new from Bey. Let me come back in a few months.

OT : Homecoming is underrated? In what world? Pff Ch...

Lyrically, Renaissance is trash and cringe worthy af. Self-Titled and B'Day remains her best albums

Happy birthday to the Beyoncé Bowl! I love the performance for its chaotic nature, though it definitely stands out from her other medleys, not always positively. But she was serving elité Mother of Pop during Texas Hold'Em, should be studied at pop boot camp.

Lemonade is not a hard listen lmao. Cowboy carter is the album where you have to be in a certain mood to listen. I think like that poster said people just talk **** about lemonade because of the streams.

Who's a Lemonade hater? I don't hate any of her albums. I just acknowledge my own disinterest in streaming it. It just never comes to mind for some reason! Love Drought is a career highlight, Formation is a BOP, 6 Inch is good (partition/blow are superior), Freedom was a favorite but I have to be in the right mood to listen.

It doesn't have the same replayability of her work post IASF sans maybe CC. Vocally it's mid, lyrically it's strong, thematically it's astounding, visually tantalizing, production wise hmm… I'd say it's solid. Curious how everyone else feels!

Certain songs can be played whenever

I find myself starting the album on Bodyguard, then I jump to riverdance into Hands then usually skip to Sweet Honey and Requiem as the closer

This choreo is so cool and different than how she usually dances allears. She should've brought it back for RWT

Nah.

I felt my assessment was pretty fair and anchored in an objective, aerial view of her entire discography and career rather than any vestedness in slamming Lem in favor of another project.

Nor is my take any kind of Anti-Lem conversion operation.

I stand by my stance that a lot of folk wrongly equate the game-changing nature of the era with the album being the sole reason for it. It's, of course, part of it and, marketing-wise, was the product she was pushing at the time. But the iconicess of the era was...the everything. The surprise Formation drop, the video, the Super Bowl, the MAGA backlash, yes the album, the visuals, the Jay marriage drama reveal, the tour.

It's a unique scenario because, as with most legendary eras, there is a very direct situation that sees the iconicness of the music centrally inform the perceived iconicness of the era. Take, for example, Thriller. The music is undeniable, stood the test of time, and is MJ canon in that THOSE are the songs that defined him and still are. It being the greatest-selling album of all time is an added rubber stamp of said greatness, but isn't the be-all and end-all. It's the...music.

Contextually, in Beyonce's trajectory, that just isn't the case with Lemonade.

I felt it in 2016 and I feel it now. It's nothing to do with being Chart Hive, residiual streams, or anything like that.

People go to Bey shows and would effectively riot if she didn't do Crazy in Love and atp, Cuff It. She doesn't touch much of Lem, and no one gives AF. That's not to say there's not great music that lives on the album. But it's not essential to her discography MUSICALLY.

Lemonade, as an ERA, is absolutely vital to her career trajectory. It had to happen for us to be where she is now. I just, personally, get confused when the music on the album is argued to be her most elevated and essential.

Also, it's a forum. We all post out hottakes and either debate 'em or move along.
