She would NEVER do the SB with Jay being the one that "chooses" the performers. The amount of think pieces that would be done about her being "privileged" would overshadow the moment leading up to the performance.

My thoughts exactly ! They already like to disect every little inch of our Girl . Give it time.... 2033 for a Career higlight moment ( 20 years after 2013 ) and lets say the Acts era ends 2027/28 that gives a Nice break for side projects / movies / Collabs etc and then a strong return for a new era .... in my opinion !

I think she's probably recorded another couple of albums worth in the five years since she recorded the trilogy - she's sort of behind her release schedule

I wonder how she'll catch-up? maybe some mixtapes

They will sit in a vault on a MacBook Pro for years to come.

We probably wont get another Bey album till at least 2030 after she wraps up this trilogy weeps

I could definitely see them doing it together for his last half time performance

I think SB 2013 is better than Beybowl for sure. Yes Beybowl had better staging but I think people are downplaying the level of showmanship needed for SB2013.

The only reason why people feel some type of way about Beys SBHS is because shes proven multiple times that she can create even better medleys, better staging, better performance.

For 99% of performers, the SBHS is their peak performance - not for Bey. And thats why you might feel some type of way.

Was just listening to her discography in shuffle and I got hit by No Angel and All Up In Your Mind back to back. Oh Experimentoncé jonny

Exactly. I am a fan of Bey because of her talent and not just aesthetics. People are only saying Bey bowl is better because of the concept and not the performance. Bey will will always give a performance but everybody knows the 2013 and 2016 superbowl performance was better. No shade but some of the beyhive have changed. I feel like the transformation of the hive started with Ren. Fonts saying she did too much on the 2013 one is weird when everybody knows Bey loves being extra on stage and real fans love that about her. Bey high energy while performing set her apart from the other acts. She wasn't afraid of looking crazy.

I mean her having grown conceptually as an artist/performer IS part of her performance talent (not just aesthetics). i never said the 2013 super bowl wasn't better, but some elements definitely were (makes sense as she's developed a lot in those years).

All fanbases like to pretend their fave has a hate train but the unwarranted Bad Bunny hate is on par with the unwarranted Beyonce hate. Those are the only 2 fan bases that can play victim. Everyone else better shut up!

i think it's important to remember the show has been evolving a lot since she first did it. nowadays artists use a lot more of the whole field for example, while hers was still with the stage/crowd concept

The 2013 SB was the perfect time to do it and given what we know she can do now, it was because of it. She really ramped her performances after the SB. The camera work, the lighting… it really made her production go through the roof. The setlist was ok, EOT was a miss and something else could have taken its spot.

I would love to see what she would do now.

I often wonder about the inclusion of EOT, if she thought perhaps those expecting/wanting new music (non-Hive) would latch onto it and give it a lil boost (but then again this was pre-streaming era where old songs would just miraculously become hits, and of course I don't think she was angling for a hit by any means). Or if it was merely a song she liked performing, the last single she had released before this... I enjoy it personally. I think time has dulled its impact but I remember being really into the stomp-intro.

I wonder what other song would have fit better. It would need to go well after Crazy in Love and into Baby Boy.

Naughty Girl seems obvious would be too DIL forward.

I'd pick: Countdown, Déja Vu, or Sweet Dreams would be amazing...even though she seems to hate performing that song.

Totally, but I think the Beyoncé Bowl has more to offer than just better staging. Conceptually it has a lot of weight. The SB entrance is my fave of her's of all time, but the Beyoncé Bowl entrance was poignant and refined and let her begin to tell a story with the performance and then leading into YA YA... its thrilling.

And while her showmanship-level or at least her overall energy isn't at the 2013-point, she still was her totally engaged, energetic, ferocious self...serving vocals and charisma that still far exceeds the industry.

OH true.
I remember watching convinced we were going to see a new music debut, and it was perfectly wrapped with the Pepsi sponsorship.

But I'm glad she didn't. Watching Madonna's back, the amount of time devoted to Give Me All Your Lovin' is almost embarrassing now, and at the least, contrasted the majesty of her megahits, songs that are audience tested. Grown Woman is better than GMAYL but still.

It is certainly amazing that Beyoncé could do an entire new Super Bowl performance filled with actual hits, none of which were performed in 2013, meanwhile since then she's outright angled to NOT get hits. As much as the Hive laments it, I am endlessly obsessed with her choice to do this. While bigger/more hits would certainly help her, the fact that she's reached the heights of respect and relevance she has while ostensibly declining in chart dominance is one for the books, and should serve as an inspiration for all popstars who don't want to be measured by their last hits. But still... she got them.

Even without act iii a new Super Bowl could easily be:

  1. Formation

  2. ***FLAWLESS

  3. [BLACK PARADE instrumental transition into] Savage (Remix)

  4. CUFF IT + remix verse

  5. BREAK MY SOUL [Queens remix]

  6. 7/11

  7. All Night

  8. Drunk in Love [Finale]

TEXAS HOLD'EM should technically be there but would be hard to fit in.

What's everyone's fave Beyoncé deep cut?
ie. a song that wasn't a single, or isn't a notable album track?

For me it's Poison, there's just something in it that is so addictive about it, even though it's kind of Beyoncé at her most innocuous, that Stargate era of her's, it's "commercial" and of its time and it's not even that great of a pop song but that's sort of what I love about it. It also has a sonic texture that reminds in a way reminds me of Check On It, that sweet yet sinister almost-60s-pop vibe (I think LEVII'S JEANS has that feeling too).

I feel the same way about Beautiful Liar. As amazing as a moment it is, as fun as it is, it's also kinda a bad song, the production is kitschy, the lyrics aren't trying to be silly yet are, but when you just let it be itself, it's a guilty pleasure masterpiece.

Lemonade being there, on a Spotify list, is funny considering its history.

Without remixes, My House, the Isley Brothers collab and Delresto, the next song she releases will be the 44th track from the trilogy era.
