Big hits that feel forgotten?

Featured Replies

Which big hits feel forgotten in 2025?

This one feels forgotten, especially in comparison to similar breakup songs like We Belong Together or even Cry Me a River:

This is not a Britney/Xtina circle jerk thread.

Looking at the top 10 of the Hot 100 YE charts of the 10s, the following feel forgotten to me: Shut Up and Dance, Can't Stop the Feeling, Panda, Hey Soul Sister, Glad You Came, Cruise, Harlem Shake, Body Like a Back Road, Happier, and Sucker.

Maybe some of them have good recurrents idk

There's a lot from 2009-2011 all those dance tracks

Shut Up and Dance is such a masterpiece, and I hear it on the radio quite a bit. Also, the lead singer is very handsome in the MV but that's irrelevant.

This omg

1.1B views though, and it's synonymous with Jersey Shore and that era of pop culture in general. Definitely a relic but forgotten is a bit much!

It's kinda true that Britney's #1s aren't her most remembered songs

Since U Been Gone being forgotten but you somehow live in a place that remembers Cry Me A River? We need ATRL to start exposing users' locations like Twitter did.

I'm gonna say any song that was big on paper but its chart performance was heavily radio fueled, so most of the #1s from the 90s.

The Edge of Glory, unfortunately. It was everywhere back in 2011 and the most enduring radio hit of BTW era but I haven't heard it public in like 10 years:rip:

im not too big on kelly clarkson but SUBG is her tik tok, love story, bad romance, single ladies, WBT of her discography. so thats a wild take.

That was more of an 80s phenomenon since 90s #1s were majorly driven by physical CD sales.

But to be fair 60s #1s were almost purely radio driven with a solid measure of vinyl singles.

It's also still doing over 350k daily

All of those songs are bigger than SUBG though, they have more streams on Spotify, and I hear them playing on the radio or in public way more than SUBG.

And again, in comparison to a song like We Belong Together alone that has endured, it's pretty forgotten for such a big breakup hit for its time.

Well, it's not really fair for a monster classic like WBT to be the litmus test :rip:

There are degrees and SUBG is still a huge hit that has stood the test of time.

?????

if we remove streams its literally one of her most known songs to date. next to stronger and because of u.

hits from 90's and 10's are pretty forgotten

00's more remembered

Hits from Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Shakira, Nelly Furtado, etc are all among the Top 200 Global Chart on Spotify in 2025
