Two albums that could probably be considered polar opposites. LUX is a maximalist, orchestral art-pop album that embraces live instrumentation—backed by the London Symphony orchestra.

BRAT on the other hand is an electronic music album that consists mostly of programmed instrumentation with a agressive club sound and elements of autotune.

Both of these masterpieces scored a 8.6 by Pitchfork and are the most acclaimed albums of 2024 and 2025 respectively.

Which album do you like more?

Sacramental bread vs. Coke

i need both

I love Brat but Lux is like ROL/Vespertine/Magdalene level good. Brat has a couple of mid songs like Talk Talk and Mean Girls.

LUX has brilliant lyrics, and orchestral production... BRAT has a complete atmosphere to it that the lyrics do not matter, because you're listening to it for the energy and nothing more.

I am not sure if I can pick one over the other since they are so completely different.

I loved BRAT a lot but it aged pretty badly for me except a few songs. Lux is a timeless record and I know I'll be playing one of the songs at my funeral 60 years from now :wanda:

I prefer BRAT. LUX is interesting and very progressive but I'm not sure how enjoyable it is as a piece of music for me. I need more time with it.

It's simply too early to ask this of LUX.

You know how the gays are quick to say what's the newest shiny new album that's out. I'm guessing it makes them feel edgy or something. Watch next year the next in the moment album will be praised LUX will be called boring or lace with filler. Pretty much everything they are saying about brat in this thread when they were just praising it :rip:

How's that gonna work?

BRAT easily

I'm sorry but LUX was not surprising in the slightest from Rosalia, it's really great but really textbook Rosalia album (without Motomami). Berghain was by far the best track and the most avant garde, which TO ME was a bad choice bc the rest of the album feels rather bland. I feel like she could have done way more to further explore the religious/orchestral vibes she teased, whereas BRAT perfectly nailed what it aimed for.

Is it ok that I don't like Rosalia's music. It's there if I ever wanna listen to something different, but I barely use any of her songs. I think the praise for this album is kinda funny.

Both are amazing albums, but LUX is more of my taste and I appreciate it better!

they are incredibly different and represent completely different things in culture, I found them really hard to compare and can't pick a preference as both are masterpieces but have nothing in common

Both masterpieces and shouldn't be compared. One is when you go to the club on a staurday night and submit to hedonism while the other is when you leave the club in the morning and go to the Sunday Mass and pray to God to fogive the sins you did last night.
As different as they are, they are both masterpieces and they compliment each other. Life should be about containing multitudes, not being monochrome.

I prefer Brat but Lux is truly something special

I don't even think they're really that comparable tbh, they're both doing very different things very well.

This is very dumb comparison…..

They're acclaimed for VERY different reasons, and to be listened in two very different contexts.. it's just not fair to pick one over the other…
