Adele = quality > quantity, Taylor Swift = quantity > quality

Featured Replies

Saw this somewhere. When it comes to albums in general, do you agree with this:

Adele = Quality > Quantity

Taylor Swift = Quantity > Quality

No. Just because Adele releases infrequently it doesnt mean her music is automatically better.

Adele's music is kinda sh*t, it's just she happens to pull off one classic mega hit ballad that carries the rest of the campaign.

Lmao, Adele's albums are frontloaded af. She has like 10 good songs out of 4 albums in total

Releasing more frequently doesn't mean a thing, what are heralded as Taylor's best (folklore and evermore) both came out a few months between each other, and what's considered Adele's worst (30) took the longest to make.

Lol tay fans getting too much brave over adele worry about ur favs recent three boring release's

Adele might be the more vocally talented artist, but there's barely much between them when it comes to quality. Acting like Adele's music isn't mostly milquetoast ballads :toofunny2:

The statements are not 100% but obviously the more music it's more likely for you to have more mid songs or mid/bad albums.

Adele Metascore's

19 has 68/ TLOAS has 68

21 has 76/ TTPD has 76

25 has 75/ Speak Now has 77

30 has 88/ Folklore has 88

And more good songs/albums

Maybe, but if I could only choose one of their discographies to listen to for the rest of my life, I would choose Taylor's, because at least she has Folklore, Evermore, Speak Now, Red, and 1989.  Adele only has 4 albums, and most of them are pretty mid, and she doesn't have as much sonic variety.

25 has:

Send My Love

Remedy

River Lea

Sweetest Devotion

:whistle2:

30 has:

Well, the whole album is mid.

30 was insanely boring (except the lead song).

Please, if Adele had released 21 and 25 in 2019-2020, they would both be 81+ on Metacritic, let's be real. Same can't be said about TTPD.

But same can be said about RED and 1989.

Adele will never have a 3 album run as low as Midnights-TTPD-Showgirl in terms of quality I fear

Someone doesn't win AOTY four times if there's no quality.

And let's not suddenly pretend 30 is the epitome of qUALItY when it's been relentlessly panned as a bland generic album by ATRL.

I mean Adele basically just released the same album 4 times.  And even still 30 was not great.

ALL of Adele's albums are good/great/timeless.  That's what happens when you take time to write and record music, and only do so when you truly feel like you have something so say.  Taylor is a business woman, I respect the hustle and yet the constant desire for success and attention definitely impacts the quality of her work.
