I've just seen that this is AP, go to the 1st thread while this gets deleted!

 

 

This is so hard as I'm still digesting Showgirl. But all three albums are AMAZING and conceptually brilliant.

 

I have soft spot for TTPD, it's really misunderstood. An intricate art in my opinion, and I prefer Taylor's slower songs.

For now it's TTPD > Midnights > Showgirl for me, but as I said it's so hard seeing how it's very early for Showgirl and it's a GREAT album!

 

Anti-Hero is still the best lead for me, followed by Ophelia then Fortnight.

All 3 are weak and uninspired but

 

1 Midnights

2 TTPD

3 Showgirl

I think TTPD largely fails as an album, while the actual music is largely fine if not terribly exciting. It's just too much and not an editor in sight, but it has the bones of something great. 

 

Midnights was a massive disappointment to me at time, coming of her career highs. I might actually revisit it now her career path has become clearer. It's clear she likes that lane to operate in.

 

Showgirl is just the diminishing return too many.

The fact that MIDnights is washing... ijbol. We didn't know how good we had it

1. Midnights 
2. The Tortured Poets Department
3. The Life of a Showgirl

Mid > Torture > Showgirl

 

The same applies for singles.

TTPD >> Mid >>> Showgirl

Midnights >>>>>> TLOAS >>>>> TTPD

I think at the moment it's Showgirl > Midnights > TTPD

 

Lead singles go Ophelia > Fortnight > Anti Hero

 

These three all sit next to each other at the moment in my album rankings, I can see them switching around. They're not her best but not her worst. They're all fine but it does feel like she needs to take a break and come back with something completely fresh.

Feel bad for TLOAS because due to the timing of its release and people finally seeing that her artistry is kind of stuck, it's going to get the lashings the other albums should have received when imo it's the most listenable of the 3

Showgirl or TTPD the best.

Midnights worst.

Ophelia best lead single.

I honestly loved TTPD and Midnights. I think TTPD could do with removing 5/6 songs but it still has 24 amazing tracks

Too early to say, but they're def ranked together within her discography
