YES! It's always been one of my all time favorites as far as Katy songs go!!! I don't understand how and why people don't like it. I literally always get chills whenever I listen to it. It's beautiful.

Rise had a good peak and did well so I wouldn't say it's underrated… to me that title belongs to 365, it deserved so much more

I would've stanned 143 if she had gone with more songs like this and Never Really Over. She has potential to serve a really good album without Dr Luke, why did she have to do that to the pop community 

It is horrible. Painfully dull, aural assault.

No, the production is somehow even more dull now in 2025 than it was when it first came out in 2016. This song is like "Roar" without the upbeat tempo and catchy melody that elementary school children get their life to. So essentially, this song appeals to no one.

 

This song was technically the beginning of the end for her, everything after Rise, with the exception of "Chained to the Rhythm" for one week, flopped into oblivion.

I love this song so much. She lowkey shines more in ballads than in bops despite not having the greatest voice ever. Her delivery sells them and this song is no exception.

When things were already in the yellow zone with "This Is How We Do" and "Birthday" - "Rise" was the wrong move

 

It went #1 in Australia on hype alone though 

It's definitely underrated. 
But Katy has many  more underrated songs and even singles beyond Rise. 

Yea, I still use this one. This back when I thought Katy was going in this direction for the Witness record.
