It's interesting how Rated R and Circus both arrived as comeback statements after very public personal turmoil, yet went in completely different directions: Rihanna leaning into a dark, aggressive, and experimental sound, while Britney embraced glossy pop theatrics with a playful yet chaotic edge. Two albums born from chaos, but with totally opposite executions, which one do you think nailed the post-scandal reinvention better?

Circus both for the trifecta of 10/10 singles alone, but both are pop masterpieces

Rated R is quite an interesting body of work especially in the context of Rihanna's discography but personally I don't think it can compete with those glimpses of quintessential Britney shining so bright.

This was supposed to be a reinvention era for Britney? It just gave britney spears comeback in a top hat. If anything, It was a return to form and Blackout was the Reinvention era, IMO. 

 

But to answer the question, Circus was bigger, Rated R was better and more ambitious in pretty much every aspect 

 

Blur is top 10 in Britney's discography tho tbh

Sorry Rated R was such a bold move & Rihanna  had something to prove. she did that!

 

Circus was nothing new or innovative it was the same old tired, generic music. 

 

Sorry Rated R for both such a masterpiece. Sorry Britney isn't touching it like at all. 

Rated R was Rih's most daring album and remains her best project to date. Russian Roulette alone was such an exciting and unexpected single to come back with, absolutely amazing! Circus did have fantastic singles and did what it was intended to do, but it was very much a return to what people had come to expect from Britney. 

i cannot vote because both albums are probably in my top all time fav albums ever, i wouldnt be able to put one above the other

sonically rude boy doesnt seem to fit rated r, it seems to fit loud more
