    When a review is considered more severe than the others, they adjust the score, which makes this difference.

    You don't understand it: they might consider a review giving a 60 is like giving a 65 or something because they are usually more severe than the rest of critics. That's why a metascore can increase with a high Pitchfork review even if their score is lower than the actual average. It's part of their weird weighting system.
