Today, on a perfect late-April afternoon in the backyard of Wendy's salon, it really is all love and light. The sun streams so fiercely on Lizzo's face that beads of sweat collect on her upper lip. Wendy, an ageless blue-eyed platinum-blonde "baddie angel," as Lizzo calls her, flits around the salon's backyard café plying us with herbal tea and compliments.

I like Lizzo, but she's facing an uphill battle here. :\ I fear she won't recover.

Ma'am... I feel for you (slightly - as I don't wish the rug to suddenly be pulled out from under many people that walk our earth currently), but blurring the lines between building rapport and making underlings uncomfortable (as she was also their boss) never works out. Those boundaries (plus a discussion with her lawyers about boundaries) needed to be in place as soon as she went up to a new tax bracket and began hiring people who didn't come up with her.

 

Positivity was her entire brand, so I don't think she can come back from it. 

She may have just tanked the Rosetta Tharpe biopic from any awards season attention as well.

She will be fine, as much hate as she gets, being a black woman this is not new for her.

I could go on, the world is too big to be limited to one area, Lizzo will continue to work for decades just like Xtina is STILL booked no matter how manty records she sells.

Did the people you listed have a scandal like Lizzo? The mask is off for her and I don't know what kind of success she can sustain.  Did she even try book any gigs this year? Festivals, anything? She did SNL and released 2 songs that went nowhere, as well as a full on mixtape with features from SZA and Doja Cat that didn't do much as well. It will be interesting to see if this fluff piece will do anything for her, since it's created to garner sympathy. The woe is me look is hard for me to buy when the things that happened were of her own doing

Her mixtape was full of bops so I'm lowkey rooting for her... I think moving forward she should own up to her messiness and just market off it, kinda like what Nicki basically do to keep herself in the headlines nowadays  if she goes that route hopefully she attaches herself to people don't ruin her legacy like Mrs Petty did 

She should try to pivot to acting or something while she still has a big name

Yes they all did, thats why I named them specifically. Also, most controversies past and the angry people find a new target to attack.
