Apparently she confirmed on her stream on wednesday that the roses cover is not the official one and the official one's still coming... Thank god!

I don't think she has anything to worry about tbh. 

 

The music sounds great and the vision is there this era. Even if the music doesn't perform to Planet Her levels, this level of quality builds a bigger fanbase through word of mouth. At worst, Vie will set her next era up for success since Scarlet, despite being a good album, did drive some people away but it didn't hurt her debut numbers at all!

 

Very excited for this album, probably my most anticipated release this year besides Mayhem  

Never been this excited for new Doja. One week to go!

For the first time I think her physical sales is gonna be more than the streams unless one of the songs smash. 

I gotta say this might be the most excited I've been for an album release this year. I pre-ordered the Amazon exclusive cover yesterday… Liked Doja's music but Scarlet 2 Claude (only the Claude songs) turned liking into loving her. From that moment I knew she would start prioritizing art/album-making. 

This album will give me life

Same! I've only listened to it a handful of times over the past few months and I still know the melody like I just listened to it today. It's so immediately catchy. Thrilled it's on the album. 

i just heard an extended snippet of gorgeous but can't find the video, can definitely hear the george daniel influence on the chorus 

I hope I like this album but the snippets aren't doing anything for me…. but I'm obsessed with Jealous Type so  there's still hope

Her CBS interview dropped! She references the narrative that she's only coming back to pop because Scarlet didn't work.

Loved the interview. She said she's recently found a new appreciation for her older music (Planet Her/Hot Pink/Amala) and that Vie is a return to her signature sound. Scarlet was more of a one-off album that she again called a "release of energy", probably from the stress/trauma of fame.

 

While I still love several songs on Scarlet, I'm happy to hear this coming from her mouth. She's showing self-awareness and growth & I'm here for it. And I think returning to her signature sound will work out for her in the long run.

I'm so concerned this will flop terribly 

 

Her words on Scarlet annoy me so much, it truly does feel like someone got in her head and push the idea that she had to make a rap album to be taken seriously.

Scarlet was all her doing…nobody forces Doja to do anything.  A friend of mine worked at RCA and said Doja has pretty much complete creative control.  RCA has more of a say on singles though. 
 

My theory: She prob got in her feelings about people constantly leaving her out of female rappers conversations.  Even her peers.  
 

Like when Eve talked about the top current female rappers.  No Doja mention…even though she featured her on PH. When nobody is ever banging on Eve door for a feat this days.  Ngl that annoyed me a bit.

Not that she's required to mention Doja, but it did feel a little….off to me.  
 

Not to mention Remy Ma whacking her on Drink Champs too.  People be playing in her face for real.  But then praising ppl with half of Doja's talent.

What's the dish on Scarlet? It's like her other albums just better. 
I personally like Hot Pink and Planet Her but like Go Off, Agora Hills, Can't Wait  the trinity of that album obliterates her other music.
