Do you miss the 2010s?

Featured Replies

I was seeing old content and pop culture last decade was still so at its prime and life was just easier for everyone outside of pop cultural moments

Just around 10 years ago we were having 1989, ST And Lemonade, 25's biggest all time debut

Rihanna was still active, Britney was still active

I don't know everything felt so colorful and happy

I know we were all younger but this decade is extremely different to the 00s and 2010s

this decade just feels dark sided and negative.

Only the early 2010s cause the innocence. After 2012 everything start going to ****.

I knew you were going to say this :ahh:

I miss 2009-2012 music. But then music got consistently worse until about 2021.

The electropop/rock era(I kissed a girl, Good Girls go bad, My first kiss etc) plus the mustard on the beat era of early 2010s was iconic. Then trap-pop came in and ruined mainstream music. Yes I'm still pressed about it.

the music was better

the song charts are much competitive, music videos are watch worthy, live performances are exciting, the pop girls were popping

now most are boring

Yes of course. 2010 is such an underrated decade for pop culture.

Not really. Most of our faves got better and released greater music.

Not really. The early 10s were obviously better than whatever we have going on right now but I can't say I miss that period in particular.

I do miss the 00s though. Now that was a great time for music and pop culture.

No. The music was sooooo generic back then. It all sounds outdated now. But since 2020 we had so many amazing artistic albums that will stand the taste of time.

Not at all. Sure, there were some hidden gems, but everything else was atrocious: the oversaturation of caucasian edm in the mainstream, hipsters (🤮), this trend where every popstar started to dress "eccentric" and releasing "empowering" pop songs even if they had a homophobic past (see: Katy Perry), the horrible clothes with a galaxy print, super skinny jeans, the "stomp hey" hipster pop, the beginning of these little industry plants who were marketed as "alternative" but had and still have the most generic pop music ever, the "you won the internet sir" memes... ugh, everything was terrible. I'm glad we've moved on!

2010-2013 was soooo cute, and I have a feeling of nostalgia for 2019 because it was immediately prior to the pandemic and I know people always say this about any age they grew up around but life DID feel much more simple back then, especially social media (Twitter, Vine, no tiktok, etc)

The first half of the '10s were just like you described, after Trumps first mandate things started to sour imo then pandemics happened and the entertainment industry suffered a lot with the focus turning to most things "virtual"/social media etc., there's a clear shift in the overall "mood" and how enthusiasm there is (or isn't) around.

The 2010s really did feel like pre and post Trump, at least in North America. 2010-2016 collectively felt so much happier than what came after. 2017-2019 was still better compared to how depressing everything's been since 2020, but you did feel a shift.
