TIDAL for ALL

Featured Replies

TBT when the Jay Z and friends owned music streaming service TIDAL premiered?

They also had a cutsie ceremony to make it official.

Did TIDAL also change your life forever?

This is just cringe overload, I love it.    The way Madonna also felt the need to do this.

The egotistical, better-than-thou attitude was such an annoyance. I think that's why everyone hated it when it came out. The only place on the internet that defended this was Atrl per usual.

Yeah I remember they dropped ANTI by accident so they gave me that….that and some of my favorite EPs and albums in lossless…. That's about it rly tho

Did they sell it? I haven't heard of Tidal in years. I remember Beyonce kept trying to make it happen through exclusives, dark times

I remember it was some Nicki Minaj deal that was supposed to allow you to download her album for free but it worked on ANY album and people flocked in droves to download free albums :deadbanana2:

This whole thing was so weird, and extremely misleading. They pitched it as a streaming cooperative, owned by artists, for the artists. But actually it was just lots of extremely successful artists, owning a private company.

I still think there is space for a platform that is a genuine cooperative, all artists on the platform have a stake, and as well as streaming incoming they also receive a share of the profits.

Oh no, I just know downloaders and sometimes Tidal has rare stuff in certain countries that's all :ryan3:

I wasn't even following pop culture at all at that time, and I remember everyone was hating it. It was an object of ridicule for billions of people worldwide. YUCK :noparty:

I dispised this back then due to the exclusive releases bey did, just to complicate our lives. Smh...

Glad it failed
