Jade has arguably delivered the strongest solo music of any Little Mix member, earning critical acclaim with her debut single that took aim at Simon Cowell and The X Factor. However, this acclaim hasn't translated into major commercial success. Whilst she appears to be actively pandering towards a queer fanbase, unlike peers like Charli XCX and Addison Rae, who've thrived in that space, her efforts haven't gained significant traction. Why do you think that is? And what should her next move be?

You're making it sound like she is over or something which she isn't. Her album is coming out in September. Now if that underperforms or totally bombs, then this conversation can happen, but this is way too soon.

I hate how here and on other similar forums people start to declare an artist is over or struggling when a single isn't massive immediately. The idea of a single peaking in its first week is insane. If it doesn't smash in week one, the meltdowns and these overly dramatic conversations start.

You make a good point, but hasn't she released five singles now? That's basically half of the album.

a great pop album made by a pop student and visionary is ahead of her this year with much more to come. that should be your focus too and you should be happy people like her still exist in between benson boons and manchilds

She's been done dirty by her label, they have looked for every excuse in the book to cancel the album (and for a time, I believe it was) - but demand is so overwhelming at this point that they can no longer pretend its not there.

RCA and Columbia are merely subsidiaries of Sony and head office really wanted Perrie to be the breakout star and they are in denial their preference is not the market's preference and they could not make the market want her over Jade.

she doesn't has it sadly... she belongs to a group. and that's okay...so go back to LM. even jessy

As much as I have enjoyed some of her singles, I think this is very accurate! None of them are solo stars....

They obviously aren't marketing her to be a potential MPG, they have greenlit her album release without any major hit attached to it. Her singles not becoming huge commercial smashes doesn't translate to her career struggling as her label are positioning her to be more of an acclaimed alt-pop girl with a dedicated fanbase and by all accounts the era has been a success on that front

her solo future is the brightest out of any of the LM girls so i suppose it will be up to her whether she wants to do a second solo era before a reunion. her label seems to have a decent amount of confidence in her so she might not be dropped like the others but even if she was she has a big enough fanbase in the UK to get booked to perform at hoopla and prides for years to come, and since she actually has a vision for herself as an artist (unlike the other girls) then i imagine she'd be fine with releasing music independently if it came to it. so she will do pretty well in her own lane

not some people saying she should stop releasing solo music because nothing smashed?  who cares about the charts when the music is great?

i loved every song she's released so far and i hope she keeps releasing more solo albums in the future

She doesn't have a hit yet but she has her vision, her sound and her identity which are way more valuable right now than a bunch of generic hits.

back to Little Mix

i love these girls but all of these solo songs have been mid :rip:

the angel song was cute though but idk I didn't like plastic box :rip:

i don't get why she gets so much hate on tik tok. Like I stumbled across a tik tok where she was dancing along to plastic box with a white dress beside a river , and all the comments were so so mean....

I love everything she released so far too. The videos and everything have been top notch. I am excited about the album.

The dramatics. She just performed at Glasto, her album is coming out in September, and she's got a sold-out solo tour. Comparing her to Charli and Addison is nonsense. JADE is the only one out of the LM girls who has consistently released, mind you, she has only released three official singles and two promo tracks. She's putting in the work, promoting while delivering top-notch material. You guys have a false idea that if someone is not smashing from the get-go, then it is a flop, like it didn't take Charli 8 projects to finally smash with BRAT and Addison to finally make waves after years of releasing music, or more recently, RAYE.

All of this is fair, but are we forgetting Jade is a member of one of the most successful British girl groups of all time? Like even Cheryl had hits at 30.
